1 I f then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.

Portanto, já que vocês ressuscitaram com Cristo, procurem as coisas que são do alto, onde Cristo está assentado à direita de Deus.

2 S et your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.

Mantenham o pensamento nas coisas do alto, e não nas coisas terrenas.

3 F or you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Pois vocês morreram, e agora a sua vida está escondida com Cristo em Deus.

4 W hen Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.

Quando Cristo, que é a sua vida, for manifestado, então vocês também serão manifestados com ele em glória.

5 P ut to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;

Assim, façam morrer tudo o que pertence à natureza terrena de vocês: imoralidade sexual, impureza, paixão, desejos maus e a ganância, que é idolatria.

6 f or which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

É por causa dessas coisas que vem a ira de Deus sobre os que vivem na desobediência,

7 Y ou also once walked in those, when you lived in them;

as quais vocês praticaram no passado, quando costumavam viver nelas.

8 b ut now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.

Mas agora, abandonem todas estas coisas: ira, indignação, maldade, maledicência e linguagem indecente no falar.

9 D on’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,

Não mintam uns aos outros, visto que vocês já se despiram do velho homem com suas práticas

10 a nd have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,

e se revestiram do novo, o qual está sendo renovado em conhecimento, à imagem do seu Criador.

11 w here there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.

Nessa nova vida já não há diferença entre grego e judeu, circunciso e incircunciso, bárbaro e cita, escravo e livre, mas Cristo é tudo e está em todos.

12 P ut on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;

Portanto, como povo escolhido de Deus, santo e amado, revistam-se de profunda compaixão, bondade, humildade, mansidão e paciência.

13 b earing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

Suportem-se uns aos outros e perdoem as queixas que tiverem uns contra os outros. Perdoem como o Senhor lhes perdoou.

14 A bove all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.

Acima de tudo, porém, revistam-se do amor, que é o elo perfeito.

15 A nd let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Que a paz de Cristo seja o juiz em seu coração, visto que vocês foram chamados para viver em paz, como membros de um só corpo. E sejam agradecidos.

16 L et the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.

Habite ricamente em vocês a palavra de Cristo; ensinem e aconselhem-se uns aos outros com toda a sabedoria, e cantem salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais com gratidão a Deus em seu coração.

17 W hatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.

Tudo o que fizerem, seja em palavra ou em ação, façam-no em nome do Senhor Jesus, dando por meio dele graças a Deus Pai. Responsabilidade Social

18 W ives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Mulheres, sujeite-se cada uma a seu marido, como convém a quem está no Senhor.

19 H usbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them.

Maridos, ame cada um a sua mulher e não a tratem com amargura.

20 C hildren, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.

Filhos, obedeçam a seus pais em tudo, pois isso agrada ao Senhor.

21 F athers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.

Pais, não irritem seus filhos, para que eles não desanimem.

22 S ervants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

Escravos, obedeçam em tudo a seus senhores terrenos, não somente para agradá-los quando eles estão observando, mas com sinceridade de coração, pelo fato de vocês temerem o Senhor.

23 A nd whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,

Tudo o que fizerem, façam de todo o coração, como para o Senhor, e não para os homens,

24 k nowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

sabendo que receberão do Senhor a recompensa da herança. É a Cristo, o Senhor, que vocês estão servindo.

25 B ut he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.

Quem cometer injustiça receberá de volta injustiça, e não haverá exceção para ninguém.
