1 I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.

Eu amo o Senhor, porque ele me ouviu quando lhe fiz a minha súplica.

2 B ecause he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

Ele inclinou os seus ouvidos para mim; eu o invocarei toda a minha vida.

3 T he cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.

As cordas da morte me envolveram, as angústias do Sheol vieram sobre mim; aflição e tristeza me dominaram.

4 T hen I called on Yahweh’s name: “Yahweh, I beg you, deliver my soul.”

Então clamei pelo nome do Senhor: Livra-me, Senhor!

5 Y ahweh is Gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful.

O Senhor é misericordioso e justo; o nosso Deus é compassivo.

6 Y ahweh preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.

O Senhor protege os simples; quando eu já estava sem forças, ele me salvou.

7 R eturn to your rest, my soul, for Yahweh has dealt bountifully with you.

Retorne ao seu descanso, ó minha alma, porque o Senhor tem sido bom para você!

8 F or you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

Pois tu me livraste da morte, e livraste os meus olhos das lágrimas e os meus pés, de tropeçar,

9 I will walk before Yahweh in the land of the living.

para que eu pudesse andar diante do Senhor na terra dos viventes.

10 I believed, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.”

Eu cri, ainda que tenha dito: Estou muito aflito.

11 I said in my haste, “All men are liars.”

Em pânico eu disse: Ninguém merece confiança.

12 W hat will I give to Yahweh for all his benefits toward me?

Como posso retribuir ao Senhor toda a sua bondade para comigo?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call on Yahweh’s name.

Erguerei o cálice da salvação e invocarei o nome do Senhor.

14 I will pay my vows to Yahweh, yes, in the presence of all his people.

Cumprirei para com o Senhor os meus votos, na presença de todo o seu povo.

15 P recious in Yahweh’s sight is the death of his saints.

O Senhor vê com pesar a morte de seus fiéis.

16 Y ahweh, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant. You have freed me from my chains.

Senhor, sou teu servo, Sim, sou teu servo, filho da tua serva; livraste-me das minhas correntes.

17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Yahweh’s name.

Oferecerei a ti um sacrifício de gratidão e invocarei o nome do Senhor.

18 I will pay my vows to Yahweh, yes, in the presence of all his people,

Cumprirei para com o Senhor os meus votos, na presença de todo o seu povo,

19 i n the courts of Yahweh’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem. Praise Yah!

nos pátios da casa do Senhor, no seu interior, ó Jerusalém! Aleluia!
