1 T he word of Yahweh of Armies came to me.

Mais uma vez veio a mim a palavra do Senhor dos Exércitos.

2 Y ahweh of Armies says: “I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.”

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Tenho muito ciúme de Sião; estou me consumindo de ciúmes por ela”.

3 Y ahweh says: “I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the middle of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called ‘The City of Truth;’ and the mountain of Yahweh of Armies, ‘The Holy Mountain.’”

Assim diz o Senhor: “Estou voltando para Sião e habitarei em Jerusalém. Então Jerusalém será chamada Cidade da Verdade, e o monte do Senhor dos Exércitos será chamado monte Sagrado”.

4 Y ahweh of Armies says: “Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Homens e mulheres de idade avançada voltarão a sentar-se nas praças de Jerusalém, cada um com sua bengala, por causa da idade.

5 T he streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.”

As ruas da cidade ficarão cheias de meninos e meninas brincando.

6 Y ahweh of Armies says: “If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes?” says Yahweh of Armies.

“Mesmo que isso pareça impossível para o remanescente deste povo naquela época, será impossível para mim?”, declara o Senhor dos Exércitos.

7 Y ahweh of Armies says: “Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Salvarei meu povo dos países do oriente e do ocidente.

8 a nd I will bring them, and they will dwell within Jerusalem; and they will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.”

Eu os trarei de volta para que habitem em Jerusalém; serão meu povo e eu serei o Deus deles, com fidelidade e justiça”.

9 Y ahweh of Armies says: “Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of Yahweh of Armies was laid, even the temple, that it might be built.

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Vocês que estão ouvindo hoje estas palavras já proferidas pelos profetas quando foram lançados os alicerces do templo do Senhor dos Exércitos, fortaleçam as mãos para que o templo seja construído.

10 F or before those days there was no wages for man, nor any wages for an animal; neither was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all men everyone against his neighbor.

Pois antes daquele tempo não havia salários para os homens nem para os animais. Ninguém podia tratar dos seus negócios com segurança por causa de seus adversários, porque eu tinha posto cada um contra o seu próximo.

11 B ut now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days,” says Yahweh of Armies.

Mas agora não mais tratarei com o remanescente deste povo como fiz no passado”, declara o Senhor dos Exércitos.

12 “ For the seed of peace and the vine will yield its fruit, and the ground will give its increase, and the heavens will give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

“Haverá uma rica semeadura, a videira dará o seu fruto, a terra produzirá suas colheitas e o céu derramará o orvalho. E darei todas essas coisas como uma herança ao remanescente deste povo.

13 I t shall come to pass that, as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Don’t be afraid. Let your hands be strong.”

Assim como vocês foram uma maldição para as nações, ó Judá e Israel, também os salvarei e vocês serão uma bênção. Não tenham medo, antes, sejam fortes.”

14 F or Yahweh of Armies says: “As I thought to do evil to you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and I didn’t repent;

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Assim como eu havia decidido castigar vocês sem compaixão quando os seus antepassados me enfureceram”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos,

15 s o again have I thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Don’t be afraid.

“também agora decidi fazer de novo o bem a Jerusalém e a Judá. Não tenham medo!

16 T hese are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates,

Eis o que devem fazer: Falem somente a verdade uns com os outros, e julguem retamente em seus tribunais;

17 a nd let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate,” says Yahweh.

não planejem no íntimo o mal contra o seu próximo, e não queiram jurar com falsidade. Porque eu odeio todas essas coisas”, declara o Senhor.

19 Y ahweh of Armies says: “The fasts of the fourth fifth, seventh, and tenth months shall be for the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace.”

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Os jejuns do quarto mês, bem como os do quinto, do sétimo e do décimo mês serão ocasiões alegres e cheias de júbilo, festas felizes para o povo de Judá. Por isso amem a verdade e a paz”.

20 Y ahweh of Armies says: “Many peoples, and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come;

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Povos e habitantes de muitas cidades ainda virão,

21 a nd the inhabitants of one shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of Yahweh, and to seek Yahweh of Armies. I will go also.’

e os habitantes de uma cidade irão a outra e dirão: ‘Vamos logo suplicar o favor do Senhor e buscar o Senhor dos Exércitos. Eu mesmo já estou indo’.

22 Y es, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek Yahweh of Armies in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of Yahweh.”

E muitos povos e nações poderosas virão buscar o Senhor dos Exércitos em Jerusalém e suplicar o seu favor”.

23 Y ahweh of Armies says: “In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, ‘We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: “Naqueles dias, dez homens de todas as línguas e nações agarrarão firmemente a barra das vestes de um judeu e dirão: ‘Nós vamos com você porque ouvimos dizer que Deus está com o seu povo”.
