1 H elp, Yahweh; for the godly man ceases. For the faithful fail from among the children of men.

Salva-nos, Senhor! Já não há quem seja fiel; já não se confia em ninguém entre os homens.

2 E veryone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.

Cada um mente ao seu próximo; seus lábios bajuladores falam com segundas intenções.

3 M ay Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,

Que o Senhor corte todos os lábios bajuladores e a língua arrogante

4 w ho have said, “With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?”

dos que dizem: “Venceremos graças à nossa língua; somos donos dos nossos lábios! Quem é senhor sobre nós?”

5 “ Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says Yahweh; “I will set him in safety from those who malign him.”

“Por causa da opressão do necessitado e do gemido do pobre, agora me levantarei”, diz o Senhor. “Eu lhes darei a segurança que tanto anseiam.”

6 Y ahweh’s words are flawless words, as silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times.

As palavras do Senhor são puras, são como prata purificada num forno, sete vezes refinada.

7 Y ou will keep them, Yahweh. You will preserve them from this generation forever.

Senhor, tu nos guardarás seguros, e dessa gente nos protegerás para sempre.

8 T he wicked walk on every side, when what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.

Os ímpios andam altivos por toda parte, quando a corrupção é exaltada entre os homens.
