1 H e began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the wine press, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.

Então Jesus começou a lhes falar por parábolas: “Certo homem plantou uma vinha, colocou uma cerca ao redor dela, cavou um tanque para prensar as uvas e construiu uma torre. Depois arrendou a vinha a alguns lavradores e foi fazer uma viagem.

2 W hen it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard.

Na época da colheita, enviou um servo aos lavradores, para receber deles parte do fruto da vinha.

3 T hey took him, beat him, and sent him away empty.

Mas eles o agarraram, o espancaram e o mandaram embora de mãos vazias.

4 A gain, he sent another servant to them; and they threw stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.

Então enviou-lhes outro servo; e lhe bateram na cabeça e o humilharam.

5 A gain he sent another; and they killed him; and many others, beating some, and killing some.

E enviou ainda outro, o qual mataram. Enviou muitos outros; em alguns bateram, a outros mataram.

6 T herefore still having one, his beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

“Faltava-lhe ainda um para enviar: seu filho amado. Por fim o enviou, dizendo: ‘A meu filho respeitarão’.

7 B ut those farmers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

“Mas os lavradores disseram uns aos outros: ‘Este é o herdeiro. Venham, vamos matá-lo, e a herança será nossa’.

8 T hey took him, killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

Assim eles o agarraram, o mataram e o lançaram para fora da vinha.

9 W hat therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.

“O que fará então o dono da vinha? Virá e matará aqueles lavradores e dará a vinha a outros.

10 H aven’t you even read this Scripture: ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner.

Vocês nunca leram esta passagem das Escrituras? “‘A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram tornou-se a pedra angular;

11 T his was from the Lord, it is marvelous in our eyes’?”

isso vem do Senhor, e é algo maravilhoso para nós’ ”.

12 T hey tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him, and went away.

Então começaram a procurar um meio de prendê-lo, pois perceberam que era contra eles que ele havia contado aquela parábola. Mas tinham medo da multidão; por isso o deixaram e foram embora. O Pagamento de Imposto a César

13 T hey sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words.

Mais tarde enviaram a Jesus alguns dos fariseus e herodianos para o apanharem em alguma coisa que ele dissesse.

14 W hen they had come, they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?

Estes se aproximaram dele e disseram: “Mestre, sabemos que és íntegro e que não te deixas influenciar por ninguém, porque não te prendes à aparência dos homens, mas ensinas o caminho de Deus conforme a verdade. É certo pagar imposto a César ou não?

15 S hall we give, or shall we not give?” But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.”

Devemos pagar ou não?” Mas Jesus, percebendo a hipocrisia deles, perguntou: “Por que vocês estão me pondo à prova? Tragam-me um denário para que eu o veja”.

16 T hey brought it. He said to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”

Eles lhe trouxeram a moeda, e ele lhes perguntou: “De quem é esta imagem e esta inscrição?” “De César”, responderam eles.

17 J esus answered them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” They marveled greatly at him.

Então Jesus lhes disse: “Dêem a César o que é de César e a Deus o que é de Deus”. E ficaram admirados com ele. A Realidade da Ressurreição

18 T here came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying,

Depois os saduceus, que dizem que não há ressurreição, aproximaram-se dele com a seguinte questão:

19 “ Teacher, Moses wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.’

“Mestre, Moisés nos deixou escrito que, se um homem morrer e deixar mulher sem filhos, seu irmão deverá casar-se com a viúva e ter filhos para seu irmão.

20 T here were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.

Havia sete irmãos. O primeiro casou-se e morreu sem deixar filhos.

21 T he second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;

O segundo casou-se com a viúva, mas também morreu sem deixar filhos. O mesmo aconteceu com o terceiro.

22 a nd the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.

Nenhum dos sete deixou filhos. Finalmente, morreu também a mulher.

23 I n the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife.”

Na ressurreição, de quem ela será esposa, visto que os sete foram casados com ela?”

24 J esus answered them, “Isn’t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God?

Jesus respondeu: “Vocês estão enganados!, pois não conhecem as Escrituras nem o poder de Deus!

25 F or when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Quando os mortos ressuscitam, não se casam nem são dados em casamento, mas são como os anjos nos céus.

26 B ut about the dead, that they are raised; haven’t you read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ ?

Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, vocês não leram no livro de Moisés, no relato da sarça, como Deus lhe disse: ‘Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó’ ?

27 H e is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.”

Ele não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos. Vocês estão muito enganados!” O Maior Mandamento

28 O ne of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?”

Um dos mestres da lei aproximou-se e os ouviu discutindo. Notando que Jesus lhes dera uma boa resposta, perguntou-lhe: “De todos os mandamentos, qual é o mais importante?”

29 J esus answered, “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one:

Respondeu Jesus: “O mais importante é este: ‘Ouve, ó Israel, o Senhor, o nosso Deus, o Senhor é o único Senhor.

30 y ou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

Ame o Senhor, o seu Deus, de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua alma, de todo o seu entendimento e de todas as suas forças’.

31 T he second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

O segundo é este: ‘Ame o seu próximo como a si mesmo’. Não existe mandamento maior do que estes”.

32 T he scribe said to him, “Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he,

“Muito bem, mestre”, disse o homem. “Estás certo ao dizeres que Deus é único e que não existe outro além dele.

33 a nd to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

Amá-lo de todo o coração, de todo o entendimento e de todas as forças, e amar ao próximo como a si mesmo é mais importante do que todos os sacrifícios e ofertas”.

34 W hen Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from God’s Kingdom.” No one dared ask him any question after that.

Vendo que ele tinha respondido sabiamente, Jesus lhe disse: “Você não está longe do Reino de Deus”. Daí por diante ninguém mais ousava lhe fazer perguntas. O Cristo é Senhor de Davi

35 J esus responded, as he taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?

Ensinando no templo, Jesus perguntou: “Como os mestres da lei dizem que o Cristo é filho de Davi?

36 F or David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’

O próprio Davi, falando pelo Espírito Santo, disse: “‘O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita até que eu ponha os teus inimigos debaixo de teus pés’.

37 T herefore David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?” The common people heard him gladly.

O próprio Davi o chama ‘Senhor’. Como pode, então, ser ele seu filho?” E a grande multidão o ouvia com prazer.

38 I n his teaching he said to them, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,

Ao ensinar, Jesus dizia: “Cuidado com os mestres da lei. Eles fazem questão de andar com roupas especiais, de receber saudações nas praças

39 a nd the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts:

e de ocupar os lugares mais importantes nas sinagogas e os lugares de honra nos banquetes.

40 t hose who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

Eles devoram as casas das viúvas, e, para disfarçar, fazem longas orações. Esses receberão condenação mais severa!” A Oferta da Viúva

41 J esus sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.

Jesus sentou-se em frente do lugar onde eram colocadas as contribuições, e observava a multidão colocando o dinheiro nas caixas de ofertas. Muitos ricos lançavam ali grandes quantias.

42 A poor widow came, and she cast in two small brass coins, which equal a quadrans coin.

Então, uma viúva pobre chegou-se e colocou duas pequeninas moedas de cobre, de muito pouco valor.

43 H e called his disciples to himself, and said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,

Chamando a si os seus discípulos, Jesus declarou: “Afirmo-lhes que esta viúva pobre colocou na caixa de ofertas mais do que todos os outros.

44 f or they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.”

Todos deram do que lhes sobrava; mas ela, da sua pobreza, deu tudo o que possuía para viver”.
