1 C hildren, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

2 H onor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),

Шануй свого батька та матір це перша заповідь з обітницею,

3 s o that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

щоб добре велося тобі, і щоб ти був на землі довголітній!

4 F athers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

А батьки, не дратуйте дітей своїх, а виховуйте їх в напоминанні й остереженні Божому!

5 S laves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ;

Раби, слухайтеся тілесних панів зо страхом і тремтінням у простоті серця вашого, як Христа!

6 n ot by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.

Не працюйте тільки про людське око, немов чоловіковгодники, а як раби Христові, чиніть від душі волю Божу,

7 W ith good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men,

служіть із зичливістю, немов Господеві, а не людям!

8 k nowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.

Знайте, що кожен, коли зробить що добре, те саме одержить від Господа, чи то раб, чи то вільний.

9 A nd masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. The Armor of God

А пани, чиніть їм те саме, занехаюйте погрози, знайте, що для вас і для них є на небі Господь, а Він на обличчя не дивиться!

10 F inally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Нарешті, мої брати, зміцняйтеся Господом та могутністю сили Його!

11 P ut on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Зодягніться в повну Божу зброю, щоб могли ви стати проти хитрощів диявольських.

12 F or our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Бо ми не маємо боротьби проти крови та тіла, але проти початків, проти влади, проти світоправителів цієї темряви, проти піднебесних духів злоби.

13 T herefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Через це візьміть повну Божу зброю, щоб могли ви дати опір дня злого, і, все виконавши, витримати.

14 S tand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Отже, стійте, підперезавши стегна свої правдою, і зодягнувшись у броню праведности,

15 a nd having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

і взувши ноги в готовість Євангелії миру.

16 i n addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

А найбільш над усе візьміть щита віри, яким зможете погасити всі огненні стріли лукавого.

17 A nd take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Візьміть і шолома спасіння, і меча духовного, який є Слово Боже.

18 W ith all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

Усякою молитвою й благанням кожного часу моліться духом, а для того пильнуйте з повною витривалістю та молитвою за всіх святих,

19 a nd pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

і за мене, щоб дане було мені слово відкрити уста свої, і зо сміливістю провіщати таємницю Євангелії,

20 f or which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

для якої посол я в кайданах, щоб сміливо про неї звіщати, як належить мені.

21 B ut that you also may know about my circumstances, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make everything known to you.

А щоб знали і ви щось про мене, та що я роблю, то все вам розповість Тихик, улюблений брат і в Господі вірний служитель,

22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about us, and that he may comfort your hearts.

якого послав я до вас на це саме, щоб довідалися ви про нас, і щоб ваші серця він потішив.

23 P eace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Мир братам і любов із вірою від Бога Отця й Господа Ісуса Христа!

24 G race be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Благодать зо всіма, що незмінно люблять Господа нашого Ісуса Христа! Амінь.
