Подай раду, зроби присуд, учини нічну тінь свою повного полудня, сховай вигнаних, біженця не видавай...

Нехай мешкають в тебе вигнанці Моаву, стань їм захистом перед грабіжником, бо не стало насильника, скінчився грабунок, загинув топтач із землі...

І буде утверджений милістю трон, і сяде на ньому у правді в наметі Давида суддя, що дбатиме за правосуддя та буде в справедливості вправний.

Ми чули про гордість Моава, що гордий він дуже, про сваволю його й його гордість, про лютість його, про неслушні його нісенітниці...

Буде тому голосити Моав над Моавом, увесь голосити він буде! За паляницями з грон Кір-Харесету плакати будуть насправді побиті,

бо посохли хешбонські поля, і виноградник Сівми; володарі народів понищили грозна добірні, які до Язеру сягали й зникали в пустині; галузки ж його розтягалися, і море вони перейшли.

9 T herefore I will weep bitterly for Jazer, for the vine of Sibmah; I will drench you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh; For the shouting over your summer fruits and your harvest has fallen away.

Тому то язерським плачем буду плакати за виноградину Сівми. Сльозою своєю тебе орошу, о Хешбоне й Ел'але, бо крик бою напав на твій збір та на жниво твоє.

10 G ladness and joy are taken away from the fruitful field; In the vineyards also there will be no cries of joy or jubilant shouting, No treader treads out wine in the presses, For I have made the shouting to cease.

І буде забрана радість та втіха із саду, а по виноградниках пісні не буде й не здійметься окрик. Вина по чавилах не буде топтати чавильник, окрик радости Я припинив!

11 T herefore my heart intones like a harp for Moab And my inward feelings for Kir-hareseth.

Тому то в жалобі звучать про Моав мої нутрощі, мов би та арфа, а нутро моє про Кір-Херес.

12 S o it will come about when Moab presents himself, When he wearies himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.

І буде, як виявиться, що змучивсь на взгір'ї Моав, і ввійде молитись у святиню свою, та він не осягне нічого.

13 T his is the word which the Lord spoke earlier concerning Moab.

Оце слово, яке говорив був віддавна Господь про Моава.

14 B ut now the Lord speaks, saying, “Within three years, as a hired man would count them, the glory of Moab will be degraded along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent.”

А тепер Господь каже, говорячи: За три роки, однакові з літами наймита, буде зневажена слава Моава з усім велелюддям його, а позосталість мала та дрібна, невелика!
