1 T hou shalt not take up a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

«Non spargerai alcuna voce falsa e non darai alcun aiuto all'empio per essere un ingiusto testimone.

2 T hou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to wrest justice:

Non seguirai la maggioranza per fare il male; e non deporrai in una vertenza giudiziaria schierandoti dalla parte della maggioranza per pervertire la giustizia.

3 n either shalt thou favor a poor man in his cause.

Non favorirai neppure il povero nel suo processo.

4 I f thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.

Se incontri il bue del tuo nemico o il suo asino smarrito, glielo riporterai.

5 I f thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, thou shalt forbear to leave him, thou shalt surely release it with him.

Se vedi l'asino di colui che ti odia steso a terra sotto il carico, guardati bene dall'abbandonarlo, ma aiuterai il suo padrone a slegarlo.

6 T hou shalt not wrest the justice due to thy poor in his cause.

Non distorcerai il diritto del tuo povero nel suo processo.

7 K eep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

Rifuggirai da ogni falsità; non ucciderai l'innocente e il giusto, perché io non assolverò il malvagio.

8 A nd thou shalt take no bribe: for a bribe blindeth them that have sight, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

Non accetterai alcun regalo, perché il regalo acceca chi vede e perverte le parole dei giusti.

9 A nd a sojourner shalt thou not oppress: for ye know the heart of a sojourner, seeing ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

Non opprimerai lo straniero, poiché voi conoscete l'animo dello straniero, perché siete stati stranieri nel paese d'Egitto.

10 A nd six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the increase thereof:

Per sei anni seminerai la tua terra e ne raccoglierai i frutti;

11 b ut the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie fallow; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beast of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.

ma il settimo anno la lascerai riposare e rimarrà incolta, affinché ne godano i poveri del tuo popolo; e le bestie della campagna mangeranno quel che essi lasceranno. Lo stesso farai della tua vigna e dei tuoi ulivi.

12 S ix days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest; that thine ox and thine ass may have rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the sojourner, may be refreshed.

Per sei giorni farai il tuo lavoro ma il settimo giorno ti riposerai, affinché il tuo bue e il tuo asino possano riposarsi, e il figlio della tua serva e il forestiero possano riprendere energia.

13 A nd in all things that I have said unto you take ye heed: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

Farete attenzione a tutte le cose che vi ho detto e non pronunzierete il nome di altri dei; non lo si oda uscire dalla vostra bocca.

14 T hree times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

Tre volte all'anno mi celebrerai una festa.

15 T he feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep: seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it thou camest out from Egypt); and none shall appear before me empty:

Osserverai la festa degli azzimi. Per sette giorni mangerai pane senza lievito. come ti ho ordinato al tempo stabilito nel mese di Abib, perché in quello tu uscisti dall'Egitto; e nessuno comparirà davanti a me a mani vuote.

16 a nd the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou sowest in the field: and the feast of ingathering, at the end of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labors out of the field.

Osserverai anche la festa della mietitura. delle primizie del tuo lavoro, di quello che hai seminato nei campi; e la festa della raccolta. alla fine dell'anno quando raccoglierai dai campi i frutti del tuo lavoro.

17 T hree times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord Jehovah.

Tre volte all'anno tutti i tuoi maschi compariranno davanti al Signore, l'Eterno.

18 T hou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.

Non offrirai il sangue della mia vittima col pane lievitato; e il grasso dei sacrifici della mia festa non rimarrà fino al mattino.

19 T he first of the first-fruits of thy ground thou shalt bring into the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in it mother's milk.

Porterai alla casa dell'Eterno, il tuo DIO, le primizie dei primi frutti della terra. Non cuocerai il capretto nel latte di sua madre.

20 B ehold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

Ecco, io mando un Angelo davanti a te per vegliare su di te lungo la via, e per farti entrare nel luogo che ho preparato.

21 T ake ye heed before him, and hearken unto his voice; provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgression: for my name is in him.

Stai attento davanti a lui e ubbidisci alla sua voce; non ribellarti a lui, perché egli non perdonerà le vostre trasgressioni, poiché il mio nome è in lui.

22 B ut if thou shalt indeed hearken unto his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

Ma se ubbidisci pienamente alla sua voce e fai tutto quello che dirò, io sarò il nemico dei tuoi nemici e sarò l'avversario dei tuoi «avversari;

23 F or mine angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: and I will cut them off.

poiché il mio Angelo andrà davanti a te e ti farò entrare nel paese degli Amorei, degli Hittei, dei Perezei, dei Cananei, degli Hivvei e dei Gebusei, e li sterminerò.

24 T hou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works; but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and break in pieces their pillars.

Non ti prostrerai davanti ai loro dei, e non li servirai. Non farai ciò che essi fanno; ma li distruggerai interamente e spezzerai le loro colonne.

25 A nd ye shall serve Jehovah your God, and he will bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Servite all'Eterno, il vostro DIO, ed egli benedirà il tuo pane e la tua acqua; ed io allontanerò la malattia di mezzo a te.

26 T here shall none cast her young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

Nel tuo paese non ci sarà alcuna donna che abortisca, né alcuna donna sterile. Io farò completo il numero dei tuoi giorni.

27 I will send my terror before thee, and will discomfit all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.

Io manderò davanti a te il mio terrore e metterò in rotta ogni popolo presso il quale arriverai, e farò voltare le spalle davanti a te a tutti i tuoi nemici.

28 A nd I will send the hornet before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

E manderò davanti a te i calabroni, che scacceranno gli Hivvei, i Cananei e gli Hittei davanti a te.

29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against thee.

Non li scaccerò davanti a te in un anno, affinché il paese non diventi un deserto e le bestie dei campi non si moltiplichino contro di te.

30 B y little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.

Li scaccerò davanti a te a poco a poco, affinché tu cresca di numero e prenda possesso del paese.

31 A nd I will set thy border from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the River: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand: and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

E fisserò i tuoi confini dal Mar Rosso al mare dei Filistei e dal deserto fino al Fiume; poiché io darò nelle tue mani gli abitanti del paese e tu li scaccerai davanti a te

32 T hou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

Non farai alleanza alcuna con loro, né coi loro dei.

33 T hey shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me; for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

Essi non abiteranno nel tuo paese, perché non ti facciano peccare contro di me: tu serviresti ai loro dei e questo ti sarebbe un laccio».
