1 T hou shalt not take up a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Să nu răspândiţi minciuni. Să nu te alături celui rău pentru a fi un martor mincinos.

2 T hou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to wrest justice:

Să nu te iei după mulţime, când aceasta săvârşeşte răul; când depui mărturie la judecată, să nu treci de partea celor mulţi ca să perverteşti dreptatea

3 n either shalt thou favor a poor man in his cause.

şi nici să nu-l favorizezi pe cel sărac la judecată.

4 I f thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.

Dacă întâlneşti boul sau măgarul rătăcit al duşmanului tău, să i-l duci înapoi.

5 I f thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, thou shalt forbear to leave him, thou shalt surely release it with him.

Dacă vezi măgarul celui ce te urăşte căzut sub povară, să nu-l laşi acolo, ci să-l ajuţi să o ia de pe el.

6 T hou shalt not wrest the justice due to thy poor in his cause.

Să nu calci în picioare dreptatea săracului la judecată.

7 K eep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

Păzeşte-te de sentinţe greşite şi nu-l ucide pe cel nevinovat sau pe cel drept, căci Eu oricum nu-l voi considera drept pe cel vinovat.

8 A nd thou shalt take no bribe: for a bribe blindeth them that have sight, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

Să nu iei mită, pentru că mita orbeşte pe cei ce văd şi suceşte cuvintele celor drepţi.

9 A nd a sojourner shalt thou not oppress: for ye know the heart of a sojourner, seeing ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

Să nu-l asupreşti pe străin, căci voi înţelegeţi starea străinului, deoarece şi voi aţi fost străini în ţara Egiptului.

10 A nd six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the increase thereof:

Timp de şase ani să semeni pământul şi să-i aduni rodul,

11 b ut the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie fallow; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beast of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.

dar în al şaptelea an să-l laşi să se odihnească nesemănat, pentru ca săracul din poporul tău să poată mânca, iar ceea ce mai rămâne să fie mâncat de animalele sălbatice. Să faci la fel cu via şi cu măslinii.

12 S ix days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest; that thine ox and thine ass may have rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the sojourner, may be refreshed.

Şase zile să lucrezi, iar în a şaptea zi să te odihneşti, pentru ca astfel şi boul, şi măgarul tău să se poată odihni, precum şi sclavul născut în casa ta, şi străinul.

13 A nd in all things that I have said unto you take ye heed: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

Să păzeşti tot ceea ce ţi-am spus. Să nu invoci numele altor dumnezei: numele lor să nu fie auzite pe buzele tale. Cele trei sărbători anuale

14 T hree times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

De trei ori pe an să ţii sărbători în cinstea Mea.

15 T he feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep: seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it thou camest out from Egypt); and none shall appear before me empty:

Să ţii Sărbătoarea Azimelor; aşa cum ţi-am poruncit, să mănânci azime timp de şapte zile, la vremea hotărâtă, şi anume în luna Abib, pentru că atunci ai ieşit din Egipt. Nimeni să nu vină înaintea Mea cu mâinile goale.

16 a nd the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou sowest in the field: and the feast of ingathering, at the end of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labors out of the field.

Să ţii Sărbătoarea Recoltei, a primelor roade ale muncii tale, din ceea ce ai semănat în ogor. Să ţii Sărbătoarea Culesului la sfârşitul anului, atunci când strângi de pe câmp rodul muncii tale.

17 T hree times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord Jehovah.

De trei ori pe an toţi bărbaţii să se înfăţişeze înaintea Stăpânului Domn.

18 T hou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.

Să nu aduci sângele jertfei Mele împreună cu pâine dospită, nici să nu laşi ca grăsimea de la sărbătoarea Mea să rămână până dimineaţa.

19 T he first of the first-fruits of thy ground thou shalt bring into the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in it mother's milk.

Primele roade ale pământului să le aduci în Casa Domnului, Dumnezeul tău. Să nu fierbi iedul în laptele mamei sale. Promisiunea ocupării Canaanului

20 B ehold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

Voi trimite un Înger înaintea ta, ca să te păzească pe drum şi să te ducă în locul pe care l-am pregătit.

21 T ake ye heed before him, and hearken unto his voice; provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgression: for my name is in him.

Fii cu luare aminte la El şi ascultă-I glasul. Nu te răzvrăti împotriva Lui, pentru că nu îţi va ierta nelegiuirea, căci Numele Meu este în El.

22 B ut if thou shalt indeed hearken unto his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

Dacă Îl vei asculta şi vei face tot ce-ţi voi spune, Eu voi fi duşmanul duşmanilor tăi şi potrivnicul potrivnicilor tăi.

23 F or mine angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: and I will cut them off.

Când Îngerul Meu va merge înaintea ta şi te va conduce la amoriţi, la hitiţi, la periziţi, la canaaniţi, la hiviţi şi la iebusiţi, Eu îi voi nimici,

24 T hou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works; but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and break in pieces their pillars.

dar tu să nu te pleci înaintea zeilor lor şi să nu li te închini. Să nu urmezi faptele lor, ci să-i nimiceşti cu desăvârşire şi să le dărâmi stâlpii sacri.

25 A nd ye shall serve Jehovah your God, and he will bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Tu să te închini Domnului, Dumnezeul tău, iar Eu îţi voi binecuvânta pâinea şi apa şi voi îndepărta boala din mijlocul tău.

26 T here shall none cast her young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

Nici o femeie din ţară nu va pierde sarcina şi nici una nu va fi stearpă. Voi face să fie deplin numărul zilelor tale.

27 I will send my terror before thee, and will discomfit all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.

Voi trimite groaza Mea înaintea ta, voi distruge toate popoarele la care vei ajunge şi voi face ca toţi duşmanii tăi să fugă dinaintea ta.

28 A nd I will send the hornet before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

Voi trimite viespi înaintea ta care îi vor izgoni pe hiviţi, pe canaaniţi şi pe hitiţi.

29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against thee.

Totuşi nu-i voi izgoni într-un singur an, pentru că ţara ar rămâne pustie şi vieţuitoarele de pe câmp s-ar înmulţi.

30 B y little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.

Puţin câte puţin, îi voi izgoni dinaintea ta până vei creşte la număr şi vei stăpâni ţara.

31 A nd I will set thy border from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the River: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand: and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

Îţi voi întinde hotarele de la Marea Roşie până la Marea Filistenilor şi de la pustie până la râu, căci Eu îi voi da în mâinile tale pe locuitorii ţării şi tu îi vei izgoni dinaintea ta.

32 T hou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

Tu însă să nu închei legământ cu ei şi cu zeii lor.

33 T hey shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me; for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

Să nu le dai voie să locuiască în ţara ta, ca să nu te facă să păcătuieşti împotriva Mea, căci dacă te vei închina înaintea zeilor lor, aceasta va fi o cursă pentru tine.»“
