1 I f then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.

Dacă aţi fost înviaţi împreună cu Cristos, căutaţi lucrurile de sus, unde Cristos stă la dreapta lui Dumnezeu!

2 S et your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.

Gândiţi-vă la lucrurile de sus, nu la cele de pe pământ,

3 F or ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

pentru că voi aţi murit, iar viaţa voastră este ascunsă cu Cristos în Dumnezeu.

4 W hen Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.

Când Cristos – viaţa voastră – Se va arăta, atunci şi voi vă veţi arăta împreună cu El în glorie.

5 P ut to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;

De aceea, daţi morţii tot ceea ce aparţine firii voastre pământeşti: desfrâul, necurăţia, patima, pofta rea, lăcomia, care este idolatrie.

6 f or which things' sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:

Din cauza acestor lucruri vine mânia lui Dumnezeu (peste fiii neascultării).

7 w herein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things;

Acestea sunt căile pe care aţi umblat şi voi atunci când trăiaţi între ei,

8 b ut now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:

însă acum lăsaţi-vă de toate aceste lucruri: de mânie, de furie, de răutate, de blasfemie, de cuvintele murdare care vă ies din gură.

9 l ie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings,

Nu vă minţiţi unul pe altul, pentru că v-aţi dezbrăcat de omul cel vechi şi de faptele lui

10 a nd have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:

şi v-aţi îmbrăcat cu omul cel nou, care este înnoit în cunoaştere, după imaginea Creatorului său.

11 w here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.

Aici nu mai este nici grec, nici iudeu, nici circumcizie, nici necircumcizie, nici barbar, nici scit, nici sclav, nici liber, ci Cristos este totul şi în toţi.

12 P ut on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;

Aşadar, ca nişte aleşi ai lui Dumnezeu, sfinţi şi iubiţi, îmbrăcaţi-vă cu o inimă plină de îndurare, cu bunătate, cu smerenie, cu blândeţe, cu răbdare!

13 f orbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:

Îngăduiţi-vă unul pe altul, iertaţi-vă unul pe altul ori de câte ori vreunul dintre voi are vreo nemulţumire împotriva altuia! Cum v-a iertat Domnul, aşa iertaţi-vă şi voi!

14 a nd above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

Dar, mai presus de toate acestea, îmbrăcaţi-vă cu dragostea, care le leagă pe toate într-o armonie perfectă!

15 A nd let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Iar pacea lui Cristos să stăpânească în inimile voastre; la ea aţi şi fost chemaţi, într-un singur trup. Şi fiţi mulţumitori!

16 L et the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.

Cuvântul lui Cristos să locuiască în voi din belşug! Învăţaţi-vă şi instruiţi-vă unul pe altul cu toată înţelepciunea! Cântaţi-I lui Dumnezeu cu mulţumire în inimile voastre cântece de laudă, imnuri, cântece duhovniceşti!

17 A nd whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Tot ceea ce faceţi, cu vorba sau cu fapta, să faceţi în Numele Domnului Isus, mulţumind, prin El, lui Dumnezeu Tatăl. Îndemnuri privind relaţiile din casa creştinului

18 W ives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Soţiilor, supuneţi-vă soţilor voştri aşa cum se cuvine în Domnul!

19 H usbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

Soţilor, iubiţi-vă soţiile şi nu fiţi aspri cu ele!

20 C hildren, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.

Copii, ascultaţi de părinţii voştri în toate, pentru că lucrul acesta Îi place Domnului!

21 F athers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged.

Părinţi, nu-i întărâtaţi pe copiii voştri, ca să nu-şi piardă curajul!

22 S ervants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:

Sclavilor, ascultaţi în toate de stăpânii voştri pământeşti, nu doar când sunteţi văzuţi de ei, ca nişte oameni care caută să placă altora, ci cu o inimă sinceră, în frică de Domnul.

23 w hatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;

Orice faceţi, să faceţi din toată inima, ca pentru Domnul, nu ca pentru oameni,

24 k nowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.

ştiind că veţi primi ca răsplată moştenirea de la Domnul. Voi slujiţi Domnului Cristos.

25 F or he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Căci cel ce face rău va fi răsplătit după răul pe care l-a făcut; şi nu va fi nici un fel de părtinire.
