1 H e that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Cel ce locuieşte la adăpostul Celui Preaînalt se odihneşte la umbra Celui Atotputernic.

2 I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.

De aceea, Îi zic Domnului: „Refugiul meu, Fortăreaţa mea, Dumnezeul meu în Care mă încred!“

3 F or he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.

El te va scăpa de laţul păsărarului şi de ciuma cea distrugătoare.

4 H e will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.

El te va acoperi cu penele Sale, iar tu te vei adăposti sub aripile Lui; credincioşia Lui îţi va fi scut şi pavăză.

5 T hou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nu te vei teme de groaza din timpul nopţii, nici de săgeata care zboară ziua,

6 F or the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

nici de ciuma care umblă prin întuneric, nici de molima care pustieşte la miezul zilei.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee.

O mie să cadă alături de tine şi zece mii la dreapta ta, dar de tine nu se va apropia.

8 O nly with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.

Vei privi cu ochii şi vei vedea răsplătirea celor răi.

9 F or thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;

Pentru că zici Domnului: „Refugiul meu!“ şi faci din Cel Preaînalt fortăreaţa ta,

10 T here shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.

Nu te va ajunge nici un rău şi nici o urgie nu se va apropia de cortul tău.

11 F or he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.

El va da porunci îngerilor Săi cu privire la tine, ca să te păzească în toate căile tale.

12 T hey shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Ei te vor purta pe braţele lor, ca nu cumva să-ţi loveşti piciorul de vreo piatră.

13 T hou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.

Aşa vei putea călca peste lei şi peste vipere, peste leii cei tineri şi peste şerpi.

14 B ecause he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

„Pentru că Mă iubeşte, şi Eu îl voi scăpa. Îl voi ocroti, căci cunoaşte Numele Meu.

15 H e shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.

Mă va chema, iar Eu îi voi răspunde. Voi fi cu el în necaz, îl voi izbăvi şi îl voi onora.

16 W ith long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.

Îl voi sătura cu viaţă lungă şi-i voi arăta mântuirea Mea.“
