1 I love Jehovah, because he heareth My voice and my supplications.

Îl iubesc pe Domnul, căci El ascultă glasul meu, cererile mele.

2 B ecause he hath inclined his ear unto me, Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

Pentru că Şi-a plecat urechea spre mine, Îl voi chema în toate zilele mele.

3 T he cords of death compassed me, And the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Mă înfăşuraseră legăturile morţii şi mă cuprinseseră sudorile Locuinţei Morţilor; eram copleşit de necaz şi de durere.

4 T hen called I upon the name of Jehovah: O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Dar am chemat Numele Domnului, zicând: „ Doamne, Te rog, izbăveşte-mi sufletul!“

5 G racious is Jehovah, and righteous; Yea, our God is merciful.

Domnul este îndurător şi drept, Dumnezeul nostru este milostiv.

6 J ehovah preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he saved me.

Domnul păzeşte pe cei neştiutori; eram nenorocit de tot, dar El m-a izbăvit.

7 R eturn unto thy rest, O my soul; For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Întoarce-te, suflete al meu, la odihna ta, căci Domnul ţi-a făcut bine!

8 F or thou hast delivered my soul from death, Mine eyes from tears, And my feet from falling.

Da, Tu mi-ai scăpat sufletul de la moarte, ochii – de lacrimi, şi picioarele – de poticnire,

9 I will walk before Jehovah In the land of the living.

astfel că voi putea umbla înaintea Domnului pe pământul celor vii!

10 I believe, for I will speak: I was greatly afflicted:

Am crezut, chiar dacă am continuat să spun: „Sunt foarte nenorocit!“

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

În neliniştea mea ziceam: „Orice om este mincinos!“

12 W hat shall I render unto Jehovah For all his benefits toward me?

Dar cum I-aş putea răsplăti Domnului toate binefacerile Lui faţă de mine?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of Jehovah.

Voi ridica cupa izbăvirilor şi voi chema Numele Domnului.

14 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah, Yea, in the presence of all his people.

Îmi voi împlini jurămintele făcute Domnului înaintea poporului Său.

15 P recious in the sight of Jehovah Is the death of his saints.

Preţioasă este în ochii Domnului moartea credincioşilor Săi.

16 O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant: I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bonds.

Doamne, Te-am rugat, ca rob al Tău ce sunt, ca rob al Tău, fiu al slujitoarei Tale, şi Tu mi-ai desfăcut legăturile.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of Jehovah.

Îţi voi aduce o jertfă de mulţumire şi voi chema mereu Numele Domnului.

18 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah, Yea, in the presence of all his people,

Îmi voi împlini jurămintele făcute Domnului înaintea întregului Său popor,

19 I n the courts of Jehovah's house, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.

în curţile Casei Domnului, în mijlocul tău, Ierusalime! Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul!
