1 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

Domnul le-a zis lui Moise şi lui Aaron:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the living things which ye may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

„Spuneţi-le israeliţilor: «Dintre toate animalele ţării, acestea sunt cele pe care puteţi să le mâncaţi:

3 W hatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat.

să mâncaţi din orice animal care rumegă şi are copita sau unghia despicată, adică despărţită în două.

4 N evertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that part the hoof: the camel, because he cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, he is unclean unto you.

Dar dintre cele care doar rumegă sau au doar copita despicată să nu mâncaţi următoarele: cămila (deşi rumegă, nu are copita despicată; s-o consideraţi necurată),

viezurele (deşi rumegă, nu are unghia despicată; să-l consideraţi necurat),

6 A nd the hare, because she cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, she is unclean unto you.

iepurele sălbatic (deşi rumegă, nu are unghia despicată; să-l consideraţi necurat)

7 A nd the swine, because he parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you.

şi porcul (deşi are copita despicată, nu rumegă; să-l consideraţi necurat).

8 O f their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch; they are unclean unto you.

Să nu mâncaţi din carnea lor şi să nu vă atingeţi de hoiturile lor, ci să le consideraţi necurate.

9 T hese may ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that may ye eat.

Dintre cele care sunt în apă veţi putea mânca din următoarele: să mâncaţi din tot ce trăieşte în apă – fie în mări, fie în râuri – cu condiţia să aibă aripioare şi solzi.

10 A nd all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination unto you,

Tot ce trăieşte în mări sau în râuri, tot ce se mişcă în apă sau orice făptură care este în apă, dar nu are aripioare şi solzi, să fie considerate necurate.

11 a nd they shall be an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, and their carcasses ye shall have in abomination.

Să le consideraţi necurate; să nu le mâncaţi carnea şi să le consideraţi hoiturile ca fiind necurate.

12 W hatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination unto you.

Să consideraţi o urâciune orice trăieşte în apă şi nu are aripioare şi solzi.

13 A nd these ye shall have in abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the ospray,

Dintre păsări să le consideraţi necurate, adică să nu le consumaţi ca hrană pentru că sunt o urâciune, pe următoarele: vulturul, vulturul pleşuv, acvila,

14 a nd the kite, and the falcon after its kind,

gaia roşie, şorecarul şi toate speciile lui,

15 e very raven after its kind,

corbul şi toate speciile lui,

16 a nd the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind,

struţul, striga, pescăruşul, şoimul şi toate speciile lui,

17 a nd the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

cucuveaua, cormoranul, bufniţa,

18 a nd the horned owl, and the pelican, and the vulture,

ciuful de pădure, ciuşul, uliganul pescar,

19 a nd the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

barza, bâtlanul şi toate speciile lui, pupăza şi liliacul.

20 A ll winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination unto you.

De asemenea, să consideraţi o urâciune orice insectă care zboară şi umblă pe patru picioare.

21 Y et these may ye eat of all winged creeping things that go upon all fours, which have legs above their feet, wherewith to leap upon the earth.

Dintre creaturile care zboară şi umblă pe patru picioare, le veţi putea mânca pe acelea care au fluierul picioarelor din spate mai mare, ca să poată sări pe pământ.

22 E ven these of them ye may eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.

Astfel, veţi putea mânca: lăcusta Arbe, lăcusta Solam, lăcusta Hargol şi lăcusta Hagab, după speciile lor.

23 B ut all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination unto you.

Însă toate celelalte insecte înaripate care au patru picioare, să le consideraţi o urâciune.

24 A nd by these ye shall become unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until the even;

Ele vă vor face necuraţi; oricine se va atinge de hoiturile lor va fi necurat până seara

25 A nd whosoever beareth aught of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

şi oricine va căra părţi ale hoiturilor lor, va trebui să-şi spele hainele şi va fi necurat până seara.

26 E very beast which parteth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, is unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

Orice animal care are unghia despicată, dar nu are copita despărţită sau nu rumegă, să-l consideraţi necurat; oricine îl va atinge va fi necurat.

27 A nd whatsoever goeth upon its paws, among all beasts that go on all fours, they are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcass shall be unclean until the even.

Să consideraţi necurate animalele cu patru picioare care umblă pe labele lor; oricine se va atinge de hoiturile lor va fi necurat până seara,

28 A nd he that beareth the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

iar cine le va căra hoiturile va trebui să-şi spele hainele şi va fi necurat până seara. Să le consideraţi necurate.

29 A nd these are they which are unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind,

Dintre creaturile care mişună pe pământ, iată care sunt acelea pe care să le consideraţi necurate: nevăstuica, şoarecele, şopârla mare după speciile ei,

30 a nd the gecko, and the land-crocodile, and the lizard, and the sand-lizard, and the chameleon.

şopârla cenuşie, şopârla ocelată, şopârla de ziduri, şopârla de nisip şi cameleonul.

31 T hese are they which are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the even.

Dintre toate creaturile care mişună, pe acestea să le consideraţi necurate; oricine le va atinge când sunt moarte va fi necurat până seara.

32 A nd upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherewith any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; then shall it be clean.

Orice lucru peste care va cădea vreuna din ele, când sunt moarte, va fi considerat necurat, fie vreun lucru din lemn, fie o haină sau piele sau sac, orice lucru întrebuinţat la ceva; acesta să fie pus în apă, căci va fi considerat necurat până seara; apoi va fi curat.

33 A nd every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean, and it ye shall break.

Dacă vreuna din ele va cădea într-un vas de pământ, tot ce este în el să fie considerat necurat, iar vasul să fie spart.

34 A ll food therein which may be eaten, that on which water cometh, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

Orice lucru bun de mâncat peste care a căzut apă dintr-un astfel de vas să fie considerat necurat şi orice băutură care se află într-un astfel de vas să fie considerată necurată.

35 A nd every thing whereupon any part of their carcass falleth shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

Orice lucru peste care va cădea ceva din hoitul vreunei astfel de creaturi, să fie considerat necurat. Dacă este vorba despre un cuptor sau o vatră, acestea să fie dărâmate; ele vor fi necurate şi va trebui să le consideraţi necurate.

36 N evertheless a fountain or a pit wherein is a gathering of water shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcass shall be unclean.

Numai izvoarele sau fântânile în care este apă din belşug, vor rămâne curate; însă cine se va atinge de hoiturile lor să fie considerat necurat.

37 A nd if aught of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

Dacă va cădea ceva din hoiturile lor pe sămânţa folosită la semănat, aceasta va rămâne curată,

38 B ut if water be put upon the seed, and aught of their carcass fall thereon, it is unclean unto you.

însă dacă se pusese apă pe sămânţă, va trebui considerată necurată.

39 A nd if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcass thereof shall be unclean until the even.

Dacă moare vreunul din animalele pe care le puteţi mânca şi cineva se atinge de hoitul acestuia, el va fi necurat până seara.

40 A nd he that eateth of the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

Cine va mânca din hoitul lui să-şi spele hainele şi va fi necurat până seara; cei care îi vor căra hoitul vor trebui să-şi spele hainele şi vor fi necuraţi până seara.

41 A nd every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

Toate creaturile care mişună pe pământ sunt o urâciune; să nu fie mâncate.

42 W hatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all fours, or whatsoever hath many feet, even all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

Din orice creatură care se târăşte pe pântece sau umblă pe patru picioare sau are mai multe picioare, din toate aceste creaturi care mişună pe pământ, să nu mâncaţi, ci să le consideraţi o urâciune.

43 Y e shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

Să nu deveniţi voi înşivă o urâciune, mâncând vreuna din aceste creaturi care mişună; să nu vă pângăriţi şi să nu vă spurcaţi cu ele.

44 F or I am Jehovah your God: sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that moveth upon the earth.

Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru! Sfinţiţi-vă şi fiţi sfinţi, căci Eu sunt sfânt. Să nu vă pângăriţi cu vreo creatură care mişună pe pământ,

45 F or I am Jehovah that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

căci Eu sunt Domnul Care v-am scos din ţara Egiptului ca să fiu Dumnezeul vostru. Deci fiţi sfinţi, după cum Eu sunt sfânt!»

46 T his is the law of the beast, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth;

Aceasta este legea cu privire la animalele, păsările, făpturile care trăiesc în ape şi la creaturile care mişună pe pământ,

47 t o make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.

ca să puteţi face deosebire între ce este curat şi ce este necurat, între animalele care pot fi mâncate şi animalele care nu pot fi mâncate.“
