1 P aul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),

Pavel, apostol trimis nu de oameni, nici printr-un om, ci prin Isus Cristos şi Dumnezeu Tatăl, Care L-a înviat din morţi,

2 a nd all the brethren that are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

şi toţi fraţii care sunt cu mine, către bisericile Galatiei:

3 G race to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,

har şi pace de la Dumnezeu, Tatăl nostru, şi de la Domnul Isus Cristos,

4 w ho gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:

Care S-a dat pe Sine pentru păcatele noastre, ca să ne salveze din acest veac rău, potrivit cu voia lui Dumnezeu, Tatăl nostru.

5 t o whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

A Lui să fie slava, în vecii vecilor! Amin. Nici o altă Evanghelie

6 I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel;

Sunt surprins că vă întoarceţi atât de repede de la Cel Care v-a chemat prin harul lui Cristos, la o altă Evanghelie.

7 w hich is not another gospel only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Nu că ar exista o altă Evanghelie, dar sunt unii care vă tulbură şi vor să schimbe Evanghelia lui Cristos.

8 B ut though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema.

Însă, chiar dacă noi sau un înger din cer v-ar vesti o altă Evanghelie decât cea pe care v-am vestit-o, să fie blestemat!

9 A s we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema.

Aşa cum v-am spus înainte, vă spun din nou: dacă cineva vă vesteşte o altă Evanghelie decât cea pe care aţi primit-o, să fie blestemat!

10 F or am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? or am I striving to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.

Caut eu oare să câştig bunăvoinţa oamenilor, sau a lui Dumnezeu? Dacă aş mai încerca să plac oamenilor, atunci n-aş fi un rob al lui Cristos! Pavel chemat de Dumnezeu

11 F or I make known to you, brethren, as touching the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not after man.

Vă fac cunoscut, fraţilor, că Evanghelia vestită de mine nu este de origine umană,

12 F or neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.

pentru că n-am primit-o, nici n-am învăţat-o de la vreun om, ci mi-a fost descoperită de Isus Cristos.

13 F or ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havoc of it:

Voi aţi auzit despre felul meu de viaţă pe când eram în iudaism, aţi auzit că am persecutat peste măsură biserica lui Dumnezeu, că am încercat s-o distrug

14 a nd I advanced in the Jews' religion beyond many of mine own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

şi că eram mai înaintat în iudaism decât mulţi din neamul meu, din generaţia mea, fiind plin de râvnă pentru tradiţiile strămoşilor mei.

15 B ut when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, even from my mother's womb, and called me through his grace,

Dar când Dumnezeu, Care m-a pus deoparte încă din pântecele mamei mele şi m-a chemat prin harul Său,

16 t o reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; straightway I conferred not with flesh and blood:

a dorit să-L descopere pe Fiul Său în mine, ca să-L vestesc printre neamuri, nu am cerut imediat sfatul unui om,

17 n either went I up to Jerusalem to them that were apostles before me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus.

nici nu m-am suit la Ierusalim, la cei care au fost apostoli înaintea mea, ci m-am dus în Arabia, iar după aceea m-am reîntors în Damasc.

18 T hen after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and tarried with him fifteen days.

Apoi, după trei ani, m-am suit la Ierusalim să-l vizitez pe Chifa şi am rămas la el cincisprezece zile,

19 B ut other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

dar n-am văzut pe nici un alt apostol, în afară de Iacov, fratele Domnului.

20 N ow touching the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

În legătură cu lucrurile pe care vi le scriu, iată, vă asigur înaintea lui Dumnezeu că nu mint.

21 T hen I came unto the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

M-am dus apoi în regiunile Siriei şi ale Ciliciei,

22 A nd I was still unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

dar le eram încă necunoscut la faţă bisericilor din Iudeea, care sunt în Cristos.

23 b ut they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now preacheth the faith of which he once made havoc;

Ei doar au auzit spunându-se: „Cel care înainte ne persecuta, vesteşte acum credinţa pe care încerca s-o distrugă.“

24 a nd they glorified God in me.

Şi Îl slăveau pe Dumnezeu din pricina mea.
