1 I love Jehovah, because he heareth My voice and my supplications.

Yo amo al Señor porque él me escucha, porque oye mi voz cargada de súplicas.

2 B ecause he hath inclined his ear unto me, Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

El Señor se digna escucharme; por eso lo invocaré mientras viva.

3 T he cords of death compassed me, And the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Los lazos de la muerte me envolvieron, y me angustié al verme tan cerca del sepulcro; mi vida era de angustia y de aflicción constante.

4 T hen called I upon the name of Jehovah: O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Pero en el nombre del Señor clamé: «Señor, ¡te ruego que me salves la vida!»

5 G racious is Jehovah, and righteous; Yea, our God is merciful.

El Señor es justo y compasivo; nuestro Dios es todo bondad.

6 J ehovah preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he saved me.

El Señor protege a la gente sencilla. Yo estuve muy enfermo, y él me levantó.

7 R eturn unto thy rest, O my soul; For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

¡Alma mía, ya puedes estar tranquila, porque el Señor me ha tratado con bondad.

8 F or thou hast delivered my soul from death, Mine eyes from tears, And my feet from falling.

Tú, Señor, me libraste de la muerte, enjugaste mis lágrimas y no me dejaste caer.

9 I will walk before Jehovah In the land of the living.

Por eso, Señor, mientras tenga vida, viviré según tu voluntad.

10 I believe, for I will speak: I was greatly afflicted:

Yo tenía fe, aun cuando dije: «¡Es muy grande mi aflicción!»

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

Era tal mi desesperación, que exclamé: «¡No hay nadie digno de confianza!»

12 W hat shall I render unto Jehovah For all his benefits toward me?

¿Con qué voy a pagarle al Señor tantas bendiciones que de él he recibido?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of Jehovah.

¡Sólo ofreciendo libaciones por su salvación, e invocando el nombre del Señor!

14 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah, Yea, in the presence of all his people.

¡Sólo cumpliendo al Señor mis promesas en presencia de todo su pueblo!

15 P recious in the sight of Jehovah Is the death of his saints.

A los ojos del Señor es muy valiosa la muerte de quienes lo aman.

16 O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant: I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid; Thou hast loosed my bonds.

Señor, yo soy tu siervo; mi madre fue tu sierva, y yo también lo soy, pues me libraste de mis cadenas.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of Jehovah.

El sacrificio que te ofrezco es mi alabanza; voy, Señor, a proclamar tu nombre.

18 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah, Yea, in the presence of all his people,

Voy a cumplirte mis promesas en presencia de todo tu pueblo,

19 I n the courts of Jehovah's house, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.

en los atrios de tu templo, Señor; ¡en medio de ti, ciudad de Jerusalén! ¡Aleluya!
