1 T he word of Jehovah that came to Micah the Morashtite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

La palabra del Señor vino a Miqueas de Moreset durante el reinado de Yotán, Ajaz y Ezequías, reyes de Judá. Esto es lo que Miqueas vio acerca de Samaria y de Jerusalén.

2 H ear, ye peoples, all of you: hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord Jehovah be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

«¡Escuchen, pueblos todos! ¡Presta atención, tierra, con todos tus habitantes! ¡Que desde su santo templo nuestro Dios y Señor sea testigo contra ustedes!

3 F or, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

¡Miren al Señor! ¡Ya sale de su lugar! ¡Ya desciende para hollar las alturas de la tierra!

4 A nd the mountains shall be melted under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, as waters that are poured down a steep place.

Bajo sus pies los montes se derriten, como la cera ante el fuego; los valles se ahondan, como partidos por las aguas que se precipitan al abismo.

5 F or the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?

Y todo esto sucede por causa de la rebelión de Jacob y por los pecados de la casa de Israel. ¡Y la causa de la rebelión de Jacob es Samaria! ¡Y los lugares altos de Judá están en Jerusalén!

6 T herefore I will make Samaria as a heap of the field, and as places for planting vineyards; and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will uncover the foundations thereof.

»Por eso voy a convertir a Samaria en un montón de ruinas y en tierra para plantar viñas; ¡voy a esparcir sus piedras por el valle, y a dejar al descubierto sus cimientos!

7 A nd all her graven images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her hires shall be burned with fire, and all her idols will I lay desolate; for of the hire of a harlot hath she gathered them, and unto the hire of a harlot shall they return.

Todas sus estatuas serán hechas pedazos, y todas sus ganancias serán arrojadas al fuego. ¡Yo destruiré a todos sus ídolos! El dinero que juntó por la paga de sus prostituciones, en dinero de prostitución se convertirá.»

8 F or this will I lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a lamentation like the ostriches.

Por eso lloro y gimo. Por eso ando descalzo y semidesnudo. Mis quejas parecen aullidos de chacales, lamentos de avestruces.

9 F or her wounds are incurable; for it is come even unto Judah; it reacheth unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

La llaga de Samaria es dolorosa, y se ha extendido hasta Judá. Ha llegado hasta Jerusalén, hasta la puerta de mi pueblo.

10 T ell it not in Gath, weep not at all: at Beth-le-aphrah have I rolled myself in the dust.

No lo digan en Gat, ni lloren demasiado. ¡Revuélquense en el polvo de Bet Leafrá!

11 P ass away, O inhabitant of Shaphir, in nakedness and shame: the inhabitant of Zaanan is not come forth; the wailing of Beth-ezel shall take from you the stay thereof.

Sigan adelante, habitantes de Safir, desnudos y avergonzados; y ustedes, habitantes de Zanán, no salgan, que Betesel está llorando y les ha retirado su apoyo.

12 F or the inhabitant of Maroth waiteth anxiously for good, because evil is come down from Jehovah unto the gate of Jerusalem.

Los habitantes de Marot anhelan con ansias recibir el bien, pero de parte del Señor el mal ha llegado hasta las puertas mismas de Jerusalén.

13 B ind the chariot to the swift steed, O inhabitant of Lachish: she was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion; for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.

Ustedes, habitantes de Laquis, que fueron los primeros causantes del pecado de la bella Sión, enganchen a sus carros los caballos más veloces, porque en ustedes se han hallado las rebeliones de Israel.

14 T herefore shalt thou give a parting gift to Moresheth-gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a deceitful thing unto the kings of Israel.

Por lo tanto, ustedes pagarán tributo a Moréset Gat, y las casas de Aczib serán una trampa para los reyes de Israel.

15 I will yet bring unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah, him that shall possess thee: the glory of Israel shall come even unto Adullam.

Y ustedes, habitantes de Maresa, van a tener un nuevo amo, y los mejores hombres de Israel huirán hasta Adulán.

16 M ake thee bald, and cut off thy hair for the children of thy delight: enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.

Rápate, pues, la cabeza y aféitate la barba por los hijos en que te deleitas; quédate calvo como el águila, porque tus hijos serán llevados en cautiverio, lejos de ti.
