1 A nd I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more.

Vi entonces un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva, porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra habían dejado de existir, y el mar tampoco existía ya.

2 A nd I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Vi también que la ciudad santa, la nueva Jerusalén, descendía del cielo, de Dios, ataviada como una novia que se adorna para su esposo.

3 A nd I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God:

Entonces oí que desde el trono salía una potente voz, la cual decía: «Aquí está el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres. Él vivirá con ellos, y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos y será su Dios.

4 a nd he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.

Dios enjugará las lágrimas de los ojos de ellos, y ya no habrá muerte, ni más llanto, ni lamento ni dolor; porque las primeras cosas habrán dejado de existir.

5 A nd he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true.

El que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: «Mira, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas.» Y me dijo: «Escribe, porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas.»

6 A nd he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

También me dijo: «Ya está hecho. Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tenga sed, yo le daré a beber gratuitamente de la fuente del agua de la vida.

7 H e that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

El que salga vencedor heredará todas las cosas, y yo seré su Dios y él será mi hijo.

8 B ut for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

Pero los cobardes, los incrédulos, los abominables, los homicidas, los que incurren en inmoralidad sexual, los hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los mentirosos tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda. La nueva Jerusalén

9 A nd there came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were laden with the seven last plagues; and he spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

Entonces se me acercó uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete plagas finales, y me dijo: «Ven acá, voy a mostrarte a la novia, la esposa del Cordero.»

10 A nd he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

Y en el Espíritu me llevó a un monte de gran altura, y me mostró la gran ciudad santa de Jerusalén, la cual descendía del cielo, de Dios.

11 h aving the glory of God: her light was like unto a stone most precious, as it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal:

Tenía la gloria de Dios y brillaba como una piedra preciosa, semejante a una piedra de jaspe, transparente como el cristal.

12 h aving a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

Tenía una muralla grande y elevada, y doce puertas; en cada puerta había un ángel, e inscripciones que correspondían a los nombres de las doce tribus de Israel.

13 o n the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

Tres puertas daban al oriente, tres puertas al norte, tres puertas al sur, y tres puertas al occidente.

14 A nd the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

La muralla de la ciudad tenía doce cimientos, y en ellos estaban los nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero.

15 A nd he that spake with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

El que hablaba conmigo tenía una caña de oro para medir la ciudad, sus puertas y su muralla.

16 A nd the city lieth foursquare, and the length thereof is as great as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal.

La ciudad era cuadrada, pues medía lo mismo de ancho que de largo. Él midió la ciudad con la caña, y de largo y de ancho medía dos mil doscientos kilómetros.

17 A nd he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.

También midió la muralla, y medía sesenta y cinco metros, según las medidas empleadas por la gente y que el ángel estaba usando.

18 A nd the building of the wall thereof was jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto pure glass.

La muralla estaba hecha de jaspe, pero la ciudad era de oro puro, diáfana como el cristal.

19 T he foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

Los cimientos de la muralla de la ciudad estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas. El primer cimiento era de jaspe; el segundo, de zafiro; el tercero, de ágata; el cuarto, de esmeralda;

20 t he fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

el quinto, de ónice; el sexto, de cornalina; el séptimo, de crisólito; el octavo, de berilo; el noveno, de topacio; el décimo, de crisoprasa; el undécimo, de jacinto, y el duodécimo, de amatista.

21 A nd the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the several gates was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Las doce puertas eran doce perlas, es decir, que cada una de las puertas era una perla, y la calle de la ciudad era de oro puro y transparente como el vidrio.

22 A nd I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple thereof.

No vi en ella ningún templo, porque su templo son el Señor y Dios Todopoderoso, y el Cordero.

23 A nd the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof is the Lamb.

La ciudad no tiene necesidad de que el sol y la luna brillen en ella, porque la ilumina la gloria de Dios y el Cordero es su lumbrera.

24 A nd the nations shall walk amidst the light thereof: and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it.

Las naciones caminarán a la luz de ella, y los reyes de la tierra traerán a ella sus riquezas y su honra.

25 A nd the gates thereof shall in no wise be shut by day (for there shall be no night there):

Sus puertas jamás serán cerradas de día, y en ella no habrá noche.

26 a nd they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it:

A ella serán llevadas las riquezas y la honra de las naciones,

27 a nd there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean, or he that maketh an abomination and a lie: but only they that are written in the Lamb's book of life.

y no entrará en ella nada que sea impuro, o detestable, o falso, sino solamente los que están inscritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.
