1 A rise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee.

¡Levántate, resplandece! ¡Tu luz ha llegado! ¡Ya la gloria del Señor brilla sobre ti!

2 F or, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

La tierra está cubierta de tinieblas, y una densa oscuridad envuelve a las naciones; pero sobre ti brilla el Señor, como la aurora; sobre ti se puede contemplar su gloria.

3 A nd nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Tu luz guiará los pasos de las naciones; los reyes se guiarán por el resplandor de tu aurora.

4 L ift up thine eyes round about, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to thee; thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be carried in the arms.

Levanta la vista y mira a tu alrededor: todos estos se han reunido, han acudido a ti. Tus hijos vienen de muy lejos; tus hijas son llevadas en brazos.

5 T hen thou shalt see and be radiant, and thy heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee.

Cuando veas esto, te pondrás radiante; tu corazón se ensanchará y quedará maravillado al ver que a ti llega la abundancia del mar, y sobre ti se vuelcan las riquezas de las naciones.

6 T he multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of Jehovah.

Una multitud de camellos te cubrirá; vendrán a ti dromedarios de Madián y de Efa, y todos los que hay en Sabá, cargados de oro e incienso, y se proclamarán alabanzas al Señor.

7 A ll the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee; they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar; and I will glorify the house of my glory.

Todos los rebaños de Cedar se juntarán en tu honor, y te serán servidos carneros de Nebayot; serán ofrecidos sobre mi altar como ofrendas agradables, y yo embelleceré mi casa con mi gloria.

8 W ho are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

¿Quiénes son éstos que pasan como nubes? ¿Quiénes vuelan como palomas a sus ventanas?

9 S urely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Jehovah thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

Son los habitantes de las costas, que esperan en mí. Al frente vienen las naves de Tarsis, trayendo a tus hijos de muy lejos. Y ellos traen su plata y su oro para honrar el nombre del Señor tu Dios, el Santo de Israel, que te ha enriquecido.

10 A nd foreigners shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee.

Gente extranjera edificará tus murallas, y sus reyes estarán a tu servicio, porque aunque te castigué cuando me hiciste enojar, una vez calmado mi enojo tendré compasión de ti.

11 T hy gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

Las puertas de tu ciudad siempre estarán abiertas; no se cerrarán ni de día ni de noche, porque a ti serán traídas las riquezas de las naciones, y ante ti serán paseados sus reyes.

12 F or that nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

La nación o el reino que no te sirvan, serán destruidos y asolados por completo.

13 T he glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir-tree, the pine, and the box-tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

A ti serán traídos todos los majestuosos cipreses, pinos y bojes del Líbano, para decorar el lugar de mi santuario; y yo daré esplendor al lugar donde poso mis pies.

14 A nd the sons of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee The city of Jehovah, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Los hijos de tus opresores vendrán y se humillarán ante ti, y a tu paso se inclinarán todos los que te insultaban, y te llamarán «Ciudad del Señor», y también «la Sión del Santo de Israel».

15 W hereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

Aunque estuviste abandonada y fuiste aborrecida, y ya nadie pasaba por ti, haré de ti un motivo de orgullo perdurable y de alegría sin fin.

16 T hou shalt also suck the milk of the nations, and shalt suck the breast of kings; and thou shalt know that I, Jehovah, am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Tu alimento será lo mejor de las naciones, libarás la riqueza de los reyes, y sabrás que yo soy el Señor, tu Salvador y Redentor, el Fuerte de Jacob.

17 F or brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

A ti traeré oro en vez de bronce, plata en vez de hierro, bronce en vez de madera, y hierro en vez de piedras; la paz será quien te gobierne, y la justicia será quien te dirija.

18 V iolence shall no more be heard in thy land, desolation nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

Nunca más volverá a escucharse que en tu tierra hay violencia, ni que en tu territorio hay destrucción ni quebrantamiento. A tus murallas las llamarás «Salvación», y a tus puertas las llamarás «Alabanza».

19 T he sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Jehovah will be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

El sol no volverá a ser tu luz durante el día, ni te alumbrará más el resplandor de la luna, porque el Señor será para ti una luz perdurable; tu Dios será tu gloria.

20 T hy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for Jehovah will be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

Tu sol no volverá a ponerse, ni tu luna volverá a oscurecerse, porque el Señor será para ti una luz perdurable, y tus días de tristeza llegarán a su fin.

21 T hy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

Todos en tu pueblo serán personas justas, y para siempre heredarán la tierra. Para gloria mía, serán renuevos de mi propio campo, ¡la obra de mis manos!

22 T he little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, Jehovah, will hasten it in its time.

El más pequeño contará por mil, y el menor, por un pueblo fuerte. Yo soy el Señor, y a su tiempo haré que esto se cumpla sin tardanza.
