1 A nd I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Después levanté la vista, y me vi ante un hombre con un cordel de medir en la mano.

2 T hen said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

Le pregunté: «¿A dónde vas?» Y él me respondió: «Voy a medir a Jerusalén, para ver cuánto mide de ancho y cuánto de largo.»

3 A nd, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

Pero en el momento en que se iba el ángel que hablaba conmigo, otro ángel le salió al encuentro

4 a nd said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, by reason of the multitude of men and cattle therein.

y le dijo: «Corre y dile a este joven: “Tantos serán los que habiten en Jerusalén, y tanto ganado tendrán, que la ciudad no tendrá muralla alguna.

5 F or I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

Yo seré para ella una muralla de fuego, que la rodeará y que estará en medio de ella, para gloria suya.” —Palabra del Señor.

6 H o, ho, flee from the land of the north, saith Jehovah; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith Jehovah.

»¡Vamos, salgan ya de ese país del norte! —Palabra del Señor. »¡Yo fui el que los esparció por los cuatro vientos de los cielos! —Palabra del Señor.

7 H o Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

»Sión, tú que habitas con la hija de Babilonia, ¡escápate ya!»

8 F or thus saith Jehovah of hosts: After glory hath he sent me unto the nations which plundered you; for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

Así ha dicho el glorioso Señor de los ejércitos, que me ha enviado a decir a las naciones que los despojaron a ustedes de todo: «El que los toca a ustedes, toca a la niña de mis ojos.

9 F or, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them; and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.

Yo levantaré mi mano contra ellos, y serán para sus siervos botín de guerra.» Así sabrán que el Señor de los ejércitos me ha enviado.

10 S ing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.

«Canta y alégrate, hija de Sión, porque yo vendré a ti, y en medio de ti viviré. —Palabra del Señor.

11 A nd many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me unto thee.

»Cuando llegue ese día, muchas naciones se unirán a mí, y ellas me serán por pueblo, y en medio de ti habitaré.» Así sabrás que el Señor de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ti.

12 A nd Jehovah shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Y el Señor volverá a hacer de Judá su heredad en la tierra santa, y una vez más escogerá a Jerusalén.

13 B e silent, all flesh, before Jehovah; for he is waked up out of his holy habitation.

¡Que la humanidad entera guarde silencio delante del Señor, porque él se ha levantado ya de su santa mansión!
