1 T hen again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a flying roll.

Poi alzai nuovamente gli occhi e guardai, ed ecco un rotolo che volava.

2 A nd he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

L'angelo mi disse: «Che cosa vedi?». Io risposi: «Vedo un rotolo che vola; la sua lunghezza è di venti cubiti, e la sua larghezza di dieci cubiti».

3 T hen said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole land: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off on the one side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off on the other side according to it.

Allora egli mi disse: «Questa è la maledizione che si sta spargendo su tutto il paese; perché da ora in poi, chiunque ruba sia reciso da esso e chiunque da ora in poi giura, sarà reciso da esso.

4 I will cause it to go forth, saith Jehovah of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name; and it shall abide in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

Io la farò uscire», dice l'Eterno degli eserciti, «ed essa entrerà nella casa del ladro e nella casa di colui che giura falsamente nel mio nome; rimarrà in quella casa e la consumerà insieme col suo legname e le sue pietre».

5 T hen the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.

Quindi l'angelo che parlava con me uscí e mi disse: «Alza gli occhi e guarda che cosa è ciò che sta uscendo».

6 A nd I said, What is it? And he said, This is the ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their appearance in all the land;

Io dissi: «Che cos'è». Egli disse: «E'l'efa che esce». Poi aggiunse: «Questo è il loro aspetto in tutto il paese».

7 ( and, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead); and this is a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah.

Quindi ecco, fu alzato un coperchio di piombo, e cosí in mezzo all'efa stava seduta una donna.

8 A nd he said, This is Wickedness: and he cast her down into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.

Allora egli disse: «Questa è la malvagità». E la gettò in mezzo all'efa, quindi gettò il coperchio di piombo sulla sua apertura.

9 T hen lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came forth two women, and the wind was in their wings; now they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the ephah between earth and heaven.

Poi alzai gli occhi e guardai, ed ecco avanzarsi due donne con il vento nelle loro ali, perché esse avevano ali come le ali di una cicogna, e sollevarono l'efa tra terra e cielo.

10 T hen said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?

Cosí domandai all'angelo che parlava con me: «Dove portano l'efa costoro?».

11 A nd he said unto me, To build her a house in the land of Shinar: and when it is prepared, she shall be set there in her own place.

Egli mi rispose: «Nel paese di Scinar per costruirle una casa, quando sarà pronta l'efa sarà collocata sul suo piedistallo».
