1 F or Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth.

Per amore di Sion io non tacerò, e per amore di Gerusalemme, non mi darò riposo finché la sua giustizia non spunti come l'aurora e la sua salvezza come una fiaccola ardente.

2 A nd the nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory, and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of Jehovah shall name.

Allora le nazioni vedranno la tua giustizia e tutti i re la tua gloria, sarai chiamata con un nome nuovo che la bocca dell'Eterno indicherà.

3 T hou shalt also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

Sarai una splendida corona nella mano dell'Eterno, un diadema regale nella palma del tuo DIO.

4 T hou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah; for Jehovah delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

Non sarai piú chiamata "Abbandonata" né la tua terra sarà piú detta "Desolazione" ma sarai chiamata "La mia delizia è in lei" e la tua terra "Maritata" perché l'Eterno trova piacere in te, e la tua terra avrà uno sposo.

5 F or as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

Perciò, come un giovane sposa una vergine, i tuoi figli sposeranno te, e come lo sposo gioisce per la sposa cosí il tuo DIO gioirà per te.

6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are Jehovah's remembrancers, take ye no rest,

Sulle tue mura, o Gerusalemme, ho posto delle sentinelle, che per tutto il giorno e tutta la notte non taceranno mai. Voi, che ricordate all'Eterno le sue promesse, non state in silenzio,

7 a nd give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

e non dategli riposo, finché non abbia ristabilito e reso Gerusalemme la lode di tutta la terra.

8 J ehovah hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy grain to be food for thine enemies; and foreigners shall not drink thy new wine, for which thou hast labored:

L'Eterno ha giurato per la sua destra e per il suo braccio potente: «Non darò piú il tuo frumento in cibo ai tuoi nemici, e i figli dello straniero non berranno piú il tuo mosto per il quale hai faticato.

9 b ut they that have garnered it shall eat it, and praise Jehovah; and they that have gathered it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.

Ma quelli che avranno raccolto il frumento lo mangeranno e loderanno l'Eterno, e quelli che avranno vendemmiato berranno il mosto nei cortili del mio santuario».

10 G o through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up an ensign for the peoples.

Passate, passate per le porte! Preparate la via per il popolo! Appianate, appianate la strada, rimuovete le pietre, alzate una bandiera davanti ai popoli!

11 B ehold, Jehovah hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.

Ecco, l'Eterno proclama fino all'estremità della terra: «Dite alla figlia di Sion: Ecco la tua salvezza, giunge; ecco, ha con sé il suo salario e la sua ricompensa lo precede.

12 A nd they shall call them The holy people, The redeemed of Jehovah: and thou shalt be called Sought out, A city not forsaken.

Li chiameranno "Il popolo santo", "I redenti dell'Eterno" e tu sarai chiamata "Ricercata", "La città non abbandonata"».
