1 T he Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 t o proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

a proclamare l'anno di grazia dell'Eterno e il giorno di vendetta del nostro DIO, per consolare tutti quelli che fanno cordoglio,

3 t o appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

per accordare gioia a quelli che fanno cordoglio in Sion per dare loro un diadema invece della cenere, l'olio della gioia invece del lutto, il manto della lode invece di uno spirito abbattuto, affinchè siano chiamati querce di giustizia, la piantagione dell'Eterno per manifestare la sua gloria.

4 A nd they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Essi ricostruiranno le antiche rovine rialzeranno i luoghi desolati nel passato, restaureranno le città desolate, devastate da molte generazioni.

5 A nd strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vine-dressers.

Stranieri verranno a pascolare le vostre greggi, i figli dello straniero saranno i vostri agricoltori e i vostri vignaioli.

6 B ut ye shall be named the priests of Jehovah; men shall call you the ministers of our God: ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Ma voi sarete chiamati "Sacerdoti dell'Eterno" e sarete chiamati "ministri del nostro DIO" Voi godrete le ricchezze delle nazioni, e la loro gloria passerà a voi.

7 I nstead of your shame ye shall have double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be unto them.

Invece della vostra vergogna avrete doppio onore; invece della confusione esulteranno nella loro eredità. Perciò nel loro paese possederanno il doppio e avranno un'allegrezza eterna.

8 F or I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Poiché io, l'Eterno, amo la giustizia, odio il furto nell'olocausto, io darò loro fedelmente la ricompensa e stabilirò con loro un patto eterno.

9 A nd their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Jehovah hath blessed.

La loro discendenza sarà nota fra le nazioni e la loro progenie fra i popoli; tutti quelli che li vedranno li riconosceranno, perché essi sono una discendenza benedetta dall'Eterno.

10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Io mi rallegrerò grandemente nell'Eterno la mia anima festeggerà nel mio DIO, perché mi ha rivestito con le vesti della salvezza, mi ha coperto col manto della giustizia, come uno sposo che si mette un diadema, come una sposa che si adorna dei suoi gioielli.

11 F or as the earth bringeth forth its bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Perciò, come la terra fa crescere la sua vegetazione e come il giardino fa germogliare ciò che vi è stato seminato cosí il Signore, l'Eterno, farà germogliare la giustizia e la lode davanti a tutte le nazioni.
