1 T hen the Lord said to me, Take a large tablet and write upon it with a graving tool and in ordinary characters: Belonging to Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

И сказал мне Господь: возьми себе большой свиток и начертай на нем человеческим письмом: Магер-шелал-хаш-баз.

2 A nd I took faithful witnesses to record and attest for me, Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberechiah.

И я взял себе верных свидетелей: Урию священника и Захарию, сына Варахиина, --

3 A nd I approached the prophetess, and when she had conceived and borne a son, the Lord said to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz,

и приступил я к пророчице, и она зачала и родила сына. И сказал мне Господь: нареки ему имя: Магер-шелал-хаш-баз,

4 F or before the child knows how to say, My father or my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be carried away before the king of Assyria.

ибо прежде нежели дитя будет уметь выговорить: отец мой, мать моя, --богатства Дамаска и добычи Самарийские понесут перед царем Ассирийским.

5 T he Lord spoke to me yet again and said,

И продолжал Господь говорить ко мне и сказал еще:

6 B ecause this people have refused and despised the waters of Shiloah that go gently, and rejoice in and with Rezin and Remaliah’s son,

за то, что этот народ пренебрегает водами Силоама, текущими тихо, и восхищается Рецином и сыном Ремалииным,

7 N ow therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the waters of the River, strong and many—even the king of Assyria and all the glory; and it will rise over all its channels, brooks, valleys, and canals and extend far beyond its banks;

наведет на него Господь воды реки бурные и большие--царя Ассирийского со всею славою его; и поднимется она во всех протоках своих и выступит из всех берегов своих;

8 A nd it will sweep on into Judah; it will overflow and go over, reaching even to the neck, and the outstretched wings shall fill the breadth of Your land, O Immanuel!

и пойдет по Иудее, наводнит ее и высоко поднимется--дойдет до шеи; и распростертие крыльев ее будет во всю широту земли Твоей, Еммануил!

9 M ake an uproar and be broken in pieces, O you peoples! Give ear, all you of far countries. Gird yourselves, and be thrown into consternation! Gird yourselves, and be dismayed!

Враждуйте, народы, но трепещите, и внимайте, все отдаленные земли! Вооружайтесь, но трепещите; вооружайтесь, но трепещите!

10 T ake counsel together, but it shall come to nought; speak the word, but it will not stand, for God is with us!

Замышляйте замыслы, но они рушатся; говорите слово, но оно не состоится: ибо с нами Бог!

11 F or the Lord spoke thus to me with His strong hand, and warned and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

Ибо так говорил мне Господь, крепкую руку и внушая мне не ходить путем сего народа, и сказал:

12 D o not call conspiracy all that this people will call conspiracy; neither be in fear of what they fear, nor in dread.

'Не называйте заговором всего того, что народ сей называет заговором; и не бойтесь того, чего он боится, и не страшитесь.

13 T he Lord of hosts—regard Him as holy and honor His holy name, and let Him be your fear and let Him be your dread.

Господа Саваофа--Его чтите свято, и Он--страх ваш, и Он--трепет ваш!

14 A nd He shall be a sanctuary; but He shall be a Stone of stumbling and a Rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

И будет Он освящением и камнем преткновения, и скалою соблазна для обоих домов Израиля, петлею и сетью для жителей Иерусалима.

15 A nd many among them shall stumble thereon; and they shall fall and be broken, and be snared and taken.

И многие из них преткнутся и упадут, и разобьются, и запутаются в сети, и будут уловлены.

16 B ind up the testimony, seal the law and the teaching among my disciples.

Завяжи свидетельство, и запечатай откровение при учениках Моих'.

17 A nd I will wait for the Lord, Who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; and I will look for and hope in Him.

Итак я надеюсь на Господа, сокрывшего лице Свое от дома Иаковлева, и уповаю на Него.

18 B ehold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, Who dwells on Mount Zion.

Вот я и дети, которых дал мне Господь, как указания и предзнаменования в Израиле от Господа Саваофа, живущего на горе Сионе.

19 A nd when the people shall say to you, Consult for direction mediums and wizards who chirp and mutter, should not a people seek and consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

И когда скажут вам: обратитесь к вызывателям умерших и к чародеям, к шептунам и чревовещателям, --тогда отвечайте: не должен ли народ обращаться к своему Богу? спрашивают ли мертвых о живых?

20 t o the teaching and to the testimony! If their teachings are not in accord with this word, it is surely because there is no dawn and no morning for them.

к закону и откровению. Если они не говорят, как это слово, то нет в них света.

21 A nd they shall pass through sorely distressed and hungry; and when they are hungry, they will fret, and will curse by their king and their God; and whether they look upward

И будут они бродить по земле, жестоко угнетенные и голодные; и во время голода будут злиться, хулить царя своего и Бога своего.

22 O r look to the earth, they will behold only distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish, and into thick darkness and widespread, obscure night they shall be driven away.

И взглянут вверх, и посмотрят на землю; и вот--горе и мрак, густая тьма, и будут повержены во тьму. Но не всегда будет мрак там, где теперь он сгустел.
