1 C omo cooperadores de Deus, insistimos com vocês para não receberem em vão a graça de Deus.

¶ We then, as workers together with him, exhort you also that ye have not received the grace of God in vain.

2 P ois ele diz: “Eu o ouvi no tempo favorável e o socorri no dia da salvação”. Digo-lhes que agora é o tempo favorável, agora é o dia da salvação! Os Sofrimentos de Paulo

(For he saith, I have heard thee in an acceptable time, and in the day of saving health I have succoured thee; behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of saving health.)

3 N ão damos motivo de escândalo a ninguém, em circunstância alguma, para que o nosso ministério não caia em descrédito.

Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry not be blamed,

4 A o contrário, como servos de Deus, recomendamo-nos de todas as formas: em muita perseverança; em sofrimentos, privações e tristezas;

But in all things showing ourselves as the ministers of God in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,

5 e m açoites, prisões e tumultos; em trabalhos árduos, noites sem dormir e jejuns;

in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

6 e m pureza, conhecimento, paciência e bondade; no Espírito Santo e no amor sincero;

in chastity, in knowledge, in meekness, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned charity,

7 n a palavra da verdade e no poder de Deus; com as armas da justiça, quer de ataque, quer de defesa;

in the word of truth, in the power of God through the weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

8 p or honra e por desonra; por difamação e por boa fama; tidos por enganadores, sendo verdadeiros;

through honour and dishonour, through evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet as men of the truth;

9 c omo desconhecidos, apesar de bem conhecidos; como morrendo, mas eis que vivemos; espancados, mas não mortos;

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, but, behold, we live; as chastened, but not killed;

10 e ntristecidos, mas sempre alegres; pobres, mas enriquecendo muitos outros; nada tendo, mas possuindo tudo.

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

11 F alamos abertamente a vocês, coríntios, e lhes abrimos todo o nosso coração!

¶ O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.

12 N ão lhes estamos limitando nosso afeto, mas vocês estão limitando o afeto que têm por nós.

Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.

13 N uma justa compensação, falo como a meus filhos, abram também o coração para nós! O Problema da Associação com os Descrentes

Now for a recompense in the same (I speak as unto my children), be ye also enlarged.

14 N ão se ponham em jugo desigual com descrentes. Pois o que têm em comum a justiça e a maldade? Ou que comunhão pode ter a luz com as trevas?

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? and what communion does light have with darkness?

15 Q ue harmonia entre Cristo e Belial? Que há de comum entre o crente e o descrente?

And what concord does Christ have with Belial? or what part do the faithful have with the unfaithful?

16 Q ue acordo há entre o templo de Deus e os ídolos? Pois somos santuário do Deus vivo. Como disse Deus: “Habitarei com eles e entre eles andarei; serei o seu Deus, e eles serão o meu povo”.

And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 P ortanto, “saiam do meio deles e separem-se”, diz o Senhor. “Não toquem em coisas impuras, e eu os receberei”

Therefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you

18 “ e lhes serei Pai, e vocês serão meus filhos e minhas filhas”, diz o Senhor todo-poderoso.

and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
