1 V olte, ó Israel, para o Senhor, o seu Deus. Seus pecados causaram sua queda!

¶ O Israel, become converted unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

2 P reparem o que vão dizer e voltem para o Senhor. Peçam-lhe: “Perdoa todos os nossos pecados e, por misericórdia, recebe-nos, para que te ofereçamos o fruto dos nossos lábios.

Take with you words, and be converted unto the LORD; say unto him, Take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, so will we render the calves of our lips.

3 A Assíria não nos pode salvar; não montaremos cavalos de guerra. Nunca mais diremos: Nossos deuses àquilo que as nossas próprias mãos fizeram, porque tu amas o órfão”.

Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods, for in thee the fatherless finds mercy.

4 “ Eu curarei a infidelidade deles e os amarei de todo o meu coração, pois a minha ira desviou-se deles.

¶ I will heal their rebellion; I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.

5 S erei como orvalho para Israel; ele florescerá como o lírio. Como o cedro do Líbano aprofundará suas raízes;

I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall flourish as the lily and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

6 s eus brotos crescerão. Seu esplendor será como o da oliveira, sua fragrância como a do cedro do Líbano.

His branches shall spread, and his glory shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

7 O s que habitavam à sua sombra voltarão. Reviverão como o trigo. Florescerão como a videira, e a fama de Israel será como o do vinho do Líbano.

Those that shall sit under his shadow shall return; they shall be given life as the wheat, and they shall flourish as the vine; the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

8 O que Efraim ainda tem com ídolos? Sou eu que lhe respondo e dele cuidarei. Sou como um pinheiro verde; o fruto que você produz de mim procede.”

¶ Ephraim shall then say, What have I to do any more with idols? I will hear him and gaze upon him; I will be unto him like a green fir tree; of me shall thy fruit be found.

9 Q uem é sábio? Aquele que considerar essas coisas. Quem tem discernimento? Aquele que as compreender. Os caminhos do Senhor são justos; os justos andam neles, mas os rebeldes neles tropeçam.

Who is wise that he might understand this? and prudent that he might know this? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the rebellious shall fall therein.
