1 “ Filho do homem, profetize para os montes de Israel e diga: Ó montes de Israel, ouçam a palavra do Senhor.

¶ Also, thou son of man, prophesy upon the mountains of Israel and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.

2 A ssim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: O inimigo disse a respeito de vocês: ‘Ah! Ah! As antigas elevações se tornaram nossas’.

Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Because the enemy hath said regarding you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession;

3 P or isso profetize e diga: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Eles devastaram e perseguiram vocês por todos os lados, de maneira que vocês se tornaram propriedade das demais das nações e objeto de conversa maliciosa e de calúnia de todos.

therefore prophesy and say, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Because they have made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the Gentiles, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers and are an infamy of the people;

4 P or isso, ó montes de Israel, ouçam a palavra do Soberano, o Senhor: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor, aos montes, às colinas, às ravinas, aos vales, às ruínas arrasadas e às cidades abandonadas que foram saqueadas e ridicularizadas pelas demais nações ao seu redor —

Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus hath the Lord GOD said to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys, to the ruins and the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken which became a prey and derision to the residue of the Gentiles that are round about,

5 a ssim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Em meu zelo ardente falei contra o restante das nações e contra todo o Edom, pois, com prazer e com maldade no coração, eles fizeram de minha terra sua propriedade, para saquear suas pastagens.

therefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Surely in the fire of my jealousy I have spoken against the other Gentiles and against all Idumea, who have disputed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful desires, to cast it out for a prey.

6 P or isso, profetize acerca da terra de Israel e diga aos montes, às colinas, às ravinas e aos vales: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Falo com ciúme em minha ira porque vocês sofreram a zombaria das nações.

Prophesy therefore upon the land of Israel and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury because ye have borne the shame of the Gentiles,

7 P or isso, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Juro de mão erguida que as nações ao redor também sofrerão zombaria.

therefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: I have lifted up my hand, Surely the Gentiles that are about you: they shall bear their shame.

8 “ Mas vocês, ó montes de Israel, produzirão galhos e frutos para Israel, o meu povo, pois ele virá logo para casa.

But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people of Israel, for they are at hand to come.

9 E stou preocupado com vocês e olharei para vocês favoravelmente; vocês serão arados e semeados,

For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown;

10 e os multiplicarei, sim, toda a nação de Israel. As cidades serão habitadas e as ruínas reconstruídas.

and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the ruins shall be built.

11 M ultiplicarei os homens e os animais, e eles serão prolíferos e se tornarão numerosos. Tornarei a povoá-los como no passado, e farei vocês prosperarem mais do que antes. Então vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall multiply and grow; and I will cause thee to dwell as was thy desire of old and will do better unto you than at your beginnings; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

12 F arei Israel, o meu povo, andar sobre vocês. Vocês lhe pertencerão, serão a herança de Israel; vocês nunca mais os privarão dos seus filhos.

And I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and from now on thou shalt no longer bereave them of sons.

13 “ Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Como de fato dizem a você: ‘Você devora homens e priva a sua nação de filhos’,

Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Because they say of you, Thou land that devours up men and hast bereaved thy nations of sons,

14 v ocê não mais devorará nem tornará sua nação sem filhos. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations of sons any more, saith the Lord GOD.

15 E u não permitirei mais que você ouça o sarcasmo das nações, e você não sofrerá mais a zombaria dos povos, nem fará mais a sua nação cair. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor ”.

Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the Gentiles any longer, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause the sons of thy inhabitants to die any longer, saith the Lord GOD.

16 D e novo a palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:

¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

17 “ Filho do homem, quando os israelitas moravam em sua própria terra, eles a contaminaram com sua conduta e com suas ações. Sua conduta era à minha vista como a impureza menstrual de uma mulher.

Son of man, the house of Israel which dwells in their land has defiled it with their own ways and with their works; their way was before me as the uncleanness of a menstruous woman.

18 P or essa razão derramei sobre eles a minha ira, porque eles derramaram sangue na terra e porque se contaminaram com seus ídolos.

And I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols with which they had polluted it:

19 E u os dispersei entre as nações, e eles foram espalhados entre os povos; eu os julguei de acordo com a conduta e as ações deles.

And I scattered them among the Gentiles, and they were dispersed through the countries; according to their ways and according to their doings I judged them.

20 E , por onde andaram entre as nações, eles profanaram o meu santo nome, pois se dizia a respeito deles: ‘Esse é o povo do Senhor, mas assim mesmo teve que sair da terra que o Senhor lhe deu’.

And when they entered unto the Gentiles, where they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD and are gone forth out of his land.

21 T ive consideração pelo meu santo nome, o qual a nação de Israel profanou entre as nações para onde tinha ido.

And it has pained me to see my holy name profaned by the house of Israel among the Gentiles where they went.

22 “ Por isso, diga à nação de Israel: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Não é por sua causa, ó nação de Israel, que farei essas coisas, mas por causa do meu santo nome, que vocês profanaram entre as nações para onde foram.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for my holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the Gentiles, where ye went.

23 M ostrarei a santidade do meu santo nome, que foi profanado entre as nações, o nome que vocês profanaram no meio delas. Então as nações saberão que eu sou o Senhor, palavra do Soberano, o Senhor, quando eu me mostrar santo por meio de vocês diante dos olhos delas.

And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the Gentiles, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the Gentiles shall know that I am the LORD, said the Lord GOD when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 “ Pois eu os tirarei dentre as nações, os ajuntarei do meio de todas as terras e os trarei de volta para a sua própria terra.

And I will take you from among the Gentiles and gather you out of all countries and will bring you into your own land.

25 A spergirei água pura sobre vocês e ficarão puros; eu os purificarei de todas as suas impurezas e de todos os seus ídolos.

¶ And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be cleansed from all your filthiness, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.

26 D arei a vocês um coração novo e porei um espírito novo em vocês; tirarei de vocês o coração de pedra e lhes darei um coração de carne.

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 P orei o meu Espírito em vocês e os levarei a agirem segundo os meus decretos e a obedecerem fielmente às minhas leis.

And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my commandments, and ye shall keep my rights, and do them.

28 V ocês habitarão na terra que dei aos seus antepassados; vocês serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus.

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 E u os livrarei de toda a sua impureza. Convocarei o cereal e o farei multiplicar-se, e não trarei fome sobre vocês.

I will also keep you from all your uncleanness: and I will call to the wheat and will multiply it and lay no famine upon you.

30 A umentarei a produção das árvores e as safras dos campos, de modo que vocês não sofrerão mais vergonha entre as nações por causa da fome.

I will multiply likewise the fruit of the trees, and the fruit of the fields, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the Gentiles.

31 E ntão vocês se lembrarão dos seus caminhos maus e das suas ações ímpias, e terão nojo de si mesmos por causa das suas iniqüidades e das suas práticas repugnantes.

Then ye shall remember your own evil ways and your doings that were not good and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Q uero que saibam que não estou fazendo isso por causa de vocês. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor. Envergonhem-se e humilhem-se por causa de sua conduta, ó nação de Israel!

Not for your sakes do I do this, said the Lord GOD, be it known unto you; be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

33 “ Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: No dia em que eu os purificar de todos os seus pecados, restabelecerei as suas cidades e as ruínas serão reconstruídas.

Thus said the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities. I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be built.

34 A terra arrasada será cultivada; não permanecerá arrasada à vista de todos que passarem por ela.

And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by;

35 E stes dirão: ‘Esta terra que estava arrasada tornou-se como o jardim do Éden; as cidades que jaziam em ruínas, arrasadas e destruídas, agora estão fortificadas e habitadas’.

who said, This desolate land used to be like the garden of Eden; and these waste and desolate and ruined cities used to be fortified.

36 E ntão as nações que estiverem ao redor de vocês e que subsistirem saberão que eu, o Senhor, reconstruí o que estava destruído e replantei o que estava arrasado. Eu, o Senhor, falei, e o farei.

And the Gentiles that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD built the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 “ Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Uma vez mais cederei à súplica da nação de Israel e farei isto por ela: tornarei o seu povo tão numeroso como as ovelhas,

Thus hath the Lord GOD said; I will yet be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will multiply men like flocks.

38 e como os grandes rebanhos destinados às ofertas das festas fixas de Jerusalém. Desse modo as cidades em ruínas ficarão cheias de rebanhos de gente. Então eles saberão que eu sou o Senhor ”.

As the holy sheep, as the sheep of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
