1 P aulo, servo de Cristo Jesus, chamado para ser apóstolo, separado para o evangelho de Deus,

¶ Paul, slave of Jesus, the Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God

2 o qual foi prometido por ele de antemão por meio dos seus profetas nas Escrituras Sagradas,

(which he had promised before by his prophets in the holy scriptures)

3 a cerca de seu Filho, que, como homem, era descendente de Davi,

of his Son (who was born unto him of the seed of David according to the flesh,

4 e que mediante o Espírito de santidade foi declarado Filho de Deus com poder, pela sua ressurreição dentre os mortos: Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.

who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of sanctification, by the resurrection from the dead), of Jesus, the Christ, our Lord.

5 P or meio dele e por causa do seu nome, recebemos graça e apostolado para chamar dentre todas as nações um povo para a obediência que vem pela fé.

By whom we have received the grace and the apostleship, to cause the faith to be obeyed among all the Gentiles in his name,

6 E vocês também estão entre os chamados para pertencerem a Jesus Cristo.

among whom ye are also the called of Jesus Christ;

to all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints; ye have grace and peace of God our Father and of the Lord Jesus, the Christ.

8 A ntes de tudo, sou grato a meu Deus, mediante Jesus Cristo, por todos vocês, porque em todo o mundo está sendo anunciada a fé que vocês têm.

¶ First, I thank my God through Jesus, the Christ, regarding you all, that your faith is preached in all the world.

9 D eus, a quem sirvo de todo o coração pregando o evangelho de seu Filho, é minha testemunha de como sempre me lembro de vocês

For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I always remember you in my prayers,

10 e m minhas orações; e peço que agora, finalmente, pela vontade de Deus, seja-me aberto o caminho para que eu possa visitá-los.

making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

11 A nseio vê-los, a fim de compartilhar com vocês algum dom espiritual, para fortalecê-los,

For I long to see you that I may impart with you some spiritual gift to confirm you,

12 i sto é, para que eu e vocês sejamos mutuamente encorajados pela fé.

that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

13 Q uero que vocês saibam, irmãos, que muitas vezes planejei visitá-los, mas fui impedido até agora. Meu propósito é colher algum fruto entre vocês, assim como tenho colhido entre os demais gentios.

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that many times I purposed to come unto you (but up until now I have been unable) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

14 S ou devedor tanto a gregos como a bárbaros, tanto a sábios como a ignorantes.

I am debtor both to the Greeks and to the Barbarians; both to the wise and to the unwise.

15 P or isso estou disposto a pregar o evangelho também a vocês que estão em Roma.

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to announce the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

16 N ão me envergonho do evangelho, porque é o poder de Deus para a salvação de todo aquele que crê: primeiro do judeu, depois do grego.

¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of the Christ; for it is the power of God to give saving health to every one that believes: to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

17 P orque no evangelho é revelada a justiça de Deus, uma justiça que do princípio ao fim é pela fé, como está escrito: “O justo viverá pela fé”. A Ira de Deus contra a Humanidade

For in him is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

18 P ortanto, a ira de Deus é revelada dos céus contra toda impiedade e injustiça dos homens que suprimem a verdade pela injustiça,

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of men, who hold back the truth with injustice;

19 p ois o que de Deus se pode conhecer é manifesto entre eles, porque Deus lhes manifestou.

¶ because that which is known of God is manifest to them; for God has showed it unto them.

20 P ois desde a criação do mundo os atributos invisíveis de Deus, seu eterno poder e sua natureza divina, têm sido vistos claramente, sendo compreendidos por meio das coisas criadas, de forma que tais homens são indesculpáveis;

For the invisible things of him, his eternal power and divinity, are clearly understood by the creation of the world and by the things that are made so that there is no excuse;

21 p orque, tendo conhecido a Deus, não o glorificaram como Deus, nem lhe renderam graças, mas os seus pensamentos tornaram-se fúteis e o coração insensato deles obscureceu-se.

because having known God, they did not glorify him as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 D izendo-se sábios, tornaram-se loucos

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

23 e trocaram a glória do Deus imortal por imagens feitas segundo a semelhança do homem mortal, bem como de pássaros, quadrúpedes e répteis.

and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man and of birds and of fourfooted beasts and of serpents.

24 P or isso Deus os entregou à impureza sexual, segundo os desejos pecaminosos do seu coração, para a degradação do seu corpo entre si.

Therefore God also gave them over to the lusts of their own hearts for uncleanness, to contaminate their own bodies between themselves,

25 T rocaram a verdade de Deus pela mentira, e adoraram e serviram a coisas e seres criados, em lugar do Criador, que é bendito para sempre. Amém.

who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for all ages. Amen.

26 P or causa disso Deus os entregou a paixões vergonhosas. Até suas mulheres trocaram suas relações sexuais naturais por outras, contrárias à natureza.

For this cause God gave them up unto shameful affections, for even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature;

27 D a mesma forma, os homens também abandonaram as relações naturais com as mulheres e se inflamaram de paixão uns pelos outros. Começaram a cometer atos indecentes, homens com homens, e receberam em si mesmos o castigo merecido pela sua perversão.

and likewise also the males, leaving the natural use of the females, burned in their lust one toward another, males with males committing nefarious works and receiving in themselves the recompense that proceeded from their error.

28 A lém do mais, visto que desprezaram o conhecimento de Deus, ele os entregou a uma disposição mental reprovável, para praticarem o que não deviam.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a perverse understanding, to do those things which are not convenient,

29 T ornaram-se cheios de toda sorte de injustiça, maldade, ganância e depravação. Estão cheios de inveja, homicídio, rivalidades, engano e malícia. São bisbilhoteiros,

being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 c aluniadores, inimigos de Deus, insolentes, arrogantes e presunçosos; inventam maneiras de praticar o mal; desobedecem a seus pais;

backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 s ão insensatos, desleais, sem amor pela família, implacáveis.

without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, without mercy.

32 E mbora conheçam o justo decreto de Deus, de que as pessoas que praticam tais coisas merecem a morte, não somente continuam a praticá-las, mas também aprovam aqueles que as praticam.

Who having understood the righteousness of God, they did not understand that those who do such things are worthy of death, not only those that do the same, but even those who encourage those that do them.
