1 “ Não se perturbe o coração de vocês. Creiam em Deus; creiam também em mim.

¶ Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 N a casa de meu Pai há muitos aposentos; se não fosse assim, eu lhes teria dito. Vou preparar-lhes lugar.

In my Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 E se eu for e lhes preparar lugar, voltarei e os levarei para mim, para que vocês estejam onde eu estiver.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 V ocês conhecem o caminho para onde vou”. Jesus, o Caminho para o Pai

¶ So that ye know where I go, and ye know the way.

5 D isse-lhe Tomé: “Senhor, não sabemos para onde vais; como então podemos saber o caminho?”

Thomas said unto him, Lord, we know not where thou goest; how, therefore, can we know the way?

6 R espondeu Jesus: “Eu sou o caminho, a verdade e a vida. Ninguém vem ao Pai, a não ser por mim.

Jesus said unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes unto the Father, but by me.

7 S e vocês realmente me conhecessem, conheceriamtambém o meu Pai. Já agora vocês o conhecem e o têm visto”.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from now on ye know him and have seen him.

8 D isse Filipe: “Senhor, mostra-nos o Pai, e isso nos basta”.

Philip said unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will suffice us.

9 J esus respondeu: “Você não me conhece, Filipe, mesmo depois de eu ter estado com vocês durante tanto tempo? Quem me vê, vê o Pai. Como você pode dizer: ‘Mostra-nos o Pai’?

Jesus said unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10 V ocê não crê que eu estou no Pai e que o Pai está em mim? As palavras que eu lhes digo não são apenas minhas. Ao contrário, o Pai, que vive em mim, está realizando a sua obra.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.

11 C reiam em mim quando digo que estou no Pai e que o Pai está em mim; ou pelo menos creiam por causa das mesmas obras.

Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

12 D igo-lhes a verdade: Aquele que crê em mim fará também as obras que tenho realizado. Fará coisas ainda maiores do que estas, porque eu estou indo para o Pai.

¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes in me, the works that I do he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father.

13 E eu farei o que vocês pedirem em meu nome, para que o Pai seja glorificado no Filho.

And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 O que vocês pedirem em meu nome, eu farei. Jesus Promete o Espírito Santo

If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15 “ Se vocês me amam, obedecerão aos meus mandamentos.

¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments;

16 E eu pedirei ao Pai, e ele lhes dará outro Conselheiro para estar com vocês para sempre,

and I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever,

17 o Espírito da verdade. O mundo não pode recebê-lo, porque não o vê nem o conhece. Mas vocês o conhecem, pois ele vive com vocês e estaráem vocês.

even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him, or know him; but ye know him, for he dwells with you and shall be in you.

18 N ão os deixarei órfãos; voltarei para vocês.

¶ I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

19 D entro de pouco tempo o mundo não me verá mais; vocês, porém, me verão. Porque eu vivo, vocês também viverão.

Yet a little while, and the world shall see me no more, but ye shall see me; because I live, ye shall live also.

20 N aquele dia compreenderão que estou em meu Pai, vocês em mim, e eu em vocês.

At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21 Q uem tem os meus mandamentos e lhes obedece, esse é o que me ama. Aquele que me ama será amado por meu Pai, e eu também o amarei e me revelarei a ele”.

He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.

22 D isse então Judas (não o Iscariotes): “Senhor, mas por que te revelarás a nós e não ao mundo?”

Judas, not Iscariot, said unto him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us and not unto the world?

23 R espondeu Jesus: “Se alguém me ama, obedecerá à minha palavra. Meu Pai o amará, nós viremos a ele e faremos morada nele.

Jesus answered and said unto him, He who loves me will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and dwell with him.

24 A quele que não me ama não obedece às minhas palavras. Estas palavras que vocês estão ouvindo não são minhas; são de meu Pai que me enviou.

He that does not love me does not keep my words, and the word which ye have heard is not mine, but of the Father who sent me.

25 “ Tudo isso lhes tenho dito enquanto ainda estou com vocês.

¶ I have spoken these things unto you, being yet present with you.

26 M as o Conselheiro, o Espírito Santo, que o Pai enviará em meu nome, lhes ensinará todas as coisas e lhes fará lembrar tudo o que eu lhes disse.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all the things that I have said unto you.

27 D eixo-lhes a paz; a minha paz lhes dou. Não a dou como o mundo a dá. Não se perturbe o seu coração, nem tenham medo.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 “ Vocês me ouviram dizer: Vou, mas volto para vocês. Se vocês me amassem, ficariam contentes porque vou para o Pai, pois o Pai é maior do que eu.

¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice because I said, I go unto the Father; for my Father is greater than I.

29 I sso eu lhes digo agora, antes que aconteça, para que, quando acontecer, vocês creiam.

And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 J á não lhes falarei muito, pois o príncipe deste mundo está vindo. Ele não tem nenhum direito sobre mim.

Hereafter I will not talk much with you, for the prince of this world comes and has nothing in me.

31 T odavia é preciso que o mundo saiba que eu amo o Pai e que faço o que meu Pai me ordenou. Levantem-se, vamo-nos daqui!

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go from here.
