2 A h, se ele me beijasse, se a sua boca me cobrisse de beijos... Sim, as suas carícias são mais agradáveis que o vinho.

¶ Oh! if he would kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! for thy love is better than wine.

3 A fragrância dos seus perfumes é suave; o seu nome é como perfume derramado. Não é à toa que as jovens o amam!

Because of the savour of thy good ointments (ointment poured forth is thy name), therefore have the virgins loved thee.

Draw me after thee, we will run. The king has brought me into his chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in thee; we will remember thy love more than the wine; the upright love thee.

5 E stou escura, mas sou bela, ó mulheres de Jerusalém; escura como as tendas de Quedar, bela como as cortinas de Salomão.

I am dark, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, more desirable as the booths of Kedar, as the tents of Solomon.

6 N ão fiquem me olhando assim porque estou escura; foi o sol que me queimou a pele. Os filhos de minha mãe zangaram-se comigo e fizeram-me tomar conta das vinhas; da minha própria vinha, porém, não pude cuidar.

Do not look upon me because I am dark because the sun has looked upon me; my mother’s sons were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards, but I have not kept my own vineyard.

7 C onte-me, você, a quem amo, onde faz pastar o seu rebanho e onde faz as suas ovelhas descansarem ao meio-dia? Se eu não o souber, serei como uma mulher coberta com véu junto aos rebanhos dos seus amigos. O Amado

¶ Tell me, O thou whom my soul loves, where thou dost feed, where thou dost make thy flock to rest at noon; for why did I have to be as a wanderer after the flocks of thy companions?

8 S e você, a mais linda das mulheres, se você não o sabe, siga a trilha das ovelhas e faça as suas cabritas pastarem junto às tendas dos pastores.

If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go forth, following the footprints of the flock and feed thy little female goats beside the booths of the shepherds.

9 C omparo você, minha querida, a uma égua das carruagens do faraó.

I have compared thee, O my love, to a mare of the chariots of Pharaoh.

10 C omo são belas as suas faces entre os brincos, e o seu pescoço com os colares de jóias! Amigas (Mulheres de Jerusalém)

Thy cheeks are beautiful between the earrings, thy neck between the necklaces.

We will make thee earrings of gold with studs of silver.

12 E nquanto o rei estava em seus aposentos, o meu nardo espalhou sua fragrância.

¶ While the king was on his couch, my spikenard gave forth its fragrance.

13 O meu amado é para mim como uma pequenina bolsa de mirra que passa a noite entre os meus seios.

A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me that rests between my breasts.

14 O meu amado é para mim um ramalhete de flores de hena das vinhas de En-Gedi. O Amado

My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.

Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.

16 C omo você é belo, meu amado! Ah, como é encantador! Verdejante é o nosso leito.

Behold, thou art fair, O my beloved, and pleasant; also our bed has flowers.

17 D e cedro são as vigas da nossa casa, e de cipreste os caibros do nosso telhado.

The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
