1 E m Judá Deus é conhecido; o seu nome é grande em Israel.

¶ In Judah is God known; his name is great in Israel.

2 S ua tenda está em Salém; o lugar da sua habitação está em Sião.

In Salem also is his tabernacle and his dwelling place in Zion.

3 A li quebrou ele as flechas reluzentes, os escudos e as espadas, as armas de guerra. Pausa

There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the war. Selah.

4 R esplendes de luz! És mais majestoso que os montes cheios de despojos.

Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

5 O s homens valorosos jazem saqueados, dormem o sono final; nenhum dos guerreiros foi capaz de erguer as mãos.

The stouthearted are spoiled; they have slept their sleep; and nothing was found in the hands of the men of might.

6 D iante da tua repreensão, ó Deus de Jacó, o cavalo e o carro estacaram.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7 S omente tu és temível. Quem poderá permanecer diante de ti quando estiveres irado?

¶ Thou, even thou, art to be feared, and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8 D os céus pronunciaste juízo, e a terra tremeu e emudeceu,

From the heavens thou didst cause judgment to be heard; the earth feared and was still,

9 q uando tu, ó Deus, te levantaste para julgar, para salvar todos os oprimidos da terra. Pausa

when thou didst arise unto judgment, O God, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10 A té a tua ira contra os homens redundará em teu louvor, e os sobreviventes da tua ira se refrearão.

Surely the wrath of man shall cause praise to come unto thee; the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

11 F açam votos ao Senhor, ao seu Deus, e não deixem de cumpri-los; que todas as nações vizinhas tragam presentes a quem todos devem temer.

Vow and pay unto the LORD your God; let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12 E le tira o ânimo dos governantes e é temido pelos reis da terra.

He shall cut off the spirit of princes; he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
