1 П існя. Псалом Асафів. (83-2) Боже, не будь мовчазним, не мовчи, і не будь Ти спокійним, о Боже,

O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

2 ( 83-3) бо ось зашуміли Твої вороги, а Твої ненависники голови попідіймали!

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

3 ( 83-4) Вони проти народу Твого хитрий задум видумують, і нараджуються проти тих, кого Ти бережеш!

Thy take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.

4 ( 83-5) Вони кажуть: Ходіть но, та знищимо їх з-між народів, і згадуватись більш не буде імення ізраїля!

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5 ( 83-6) Бо вони однодушно нарадилися, проти Тебе умови складають,

For they have consulted together with one consent; Against thee do they make a covenant:

6 ( 83-7) намети Едома й ізмаїльтян, Моав та агаряни,

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7 ( 83-8) Ґевал і Аммон, і Амалик, Филистея з мешканцями Тиру.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

8 ( 83-9) і Ашшур поєднався був з ними, вони синам Лотовим стали раменом. Села.

Assyria also is joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah

9 ( 83-10) Зроби їм, як Мідіянові, як Сісері, як Явінові в долині Кішон,

Do thou unto them as unto Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

11 ( 83-12) Поклади їх та їхніх вельмож, як Орева, й як Зеева, й як Зеваха, й як Цалмунну, усіх їхніх князів,

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yea, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;

12 ( 83-13) що казали були: Візьмімо на спадок для себе помешкання Боже!

Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession The habitations of God.

13 ( 83-14) Боже мій, бодай стали вони, немов порох у вихрі, як солома на вітрі!

O my God, make them like the whirling dust; As stubble before the wind.

14 ( 83-15) Як огонь палить ліс, й як запалює полум'я гори,

As the fire that burneth the forest, And as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire,

15 ( 83-16) так Ти їх пожени Своїм вихром, і настраш Своєю бурею!

So pursue them with thy tempest, And terrify them with thy storm.

16 ( 83-17) Наповни обличчя їхнє соромом, і хай шукають вони Твоє Ймення, о Господи!

Fill their faces with confusion, That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.

17 ( 83-18) Нехай будуть вони засоромлені, й завжди хай будуть настрашені, і хай застидаються, й хай вони згинуть!

Let them be put to shame and dismayed for ever; Yea, let them be confounded and perish;

18 ( 83-19) і нехай вони знають, що Ти, Твоє Ймення Господь, Сам Ти, Всевишній, на цілій землі!

That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth.
