1 І сказав Господь до Мойсея: Ще одну поразу наведу Я на фараона й на Єгипет. Потому він відпустить вас ізвідси. А коли він буде відпускати вас, то зовсім вас вижене звідси!

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.

2 С кажи ж у вуха народу, і нехай позичить кожен від свого ближнього, а кожна від своєї ближньої посуд срібний та посуд золотий,

Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.

3 І дав Господь милість тому народові в очах Єгипту. Також і цей муж, Мойсей, був дуже великий в єгипетськім краї в очах фараонових рабів та в очах того народу.

And Jehovah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.

4 І промовив Мойсей: Так сказав Господь! Коло півночі Я вийду посеред Єгипту.

And Moses said, Thus saith Jehovah, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

5 І помре кожен перворідний єгипетської землі від перворідного фараона, що сидить на своїм престолі, до перворідного невільниці, що за жорнами, і все перворідне з худоби.

and all the first-born in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the first-born of the maid-servant that is behind the mill; and all the first-born of cattle.

6 І здійметься великий зойк по всій єгипетській землі, що такого, як він, не бувало, і такого, як він, більш не буде.

And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there hath not been, nor shall be any more.

7 А в усіх синів Ізраїлевих від людини й аж до худоби навіть пес не висуне язика свого, щоб ви знали, що відділює Господь між Єгиптом і між Ізраїлем.

But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that Jehovah doth make a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel.

8 І зійдуть усі оці раби твої до мене, і поклоняться мені, кажучи: Вийди ти та ввесь народ, що слухає тебе. По цьому я вийду. І він вийшов від фараона, розпалений гнівом.

And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.

9 І сказав Господь до Мойсея: Не послухав вас фараон, щоб могли помножитись чуда Мої в єгипетськім краї.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

10 А Мойсей та Аарон учинили всі оці чуда перед лицем фараоновим. Та зробив запеклим Господь фараонове серце, і він не відпустив Ізраїлевих синів із своєї землі.

And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and Jehovah hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
