1 Д якуйте Господу, добрий бо Він, бо навіки Його милосердя!

O give thanks unto Jehovah; For he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

2 х ай так скажуть ті всі, що Господь урятував їх, що визволив їх з руки ворога,

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

3 і з країв їх зібрав, від сходу й заходу, від півночі й моря!

And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

4 Б лудили вони по пустині дорогою голою, осілого міста не знаходили,

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; They found no city of habitation.

5 г олодні та спрагнені, і в них їхня душа омлівала...

Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.

6 і в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх!

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses,

7 і Він їх попровадив дорогою простою, щоб до міста осілого йшли.

He led them also by a straight way, That they might go to a city of habitation.

8 Н ехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість Його, та за чуда Його синам людським,

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 б о наситив Він спрагнену душу, а душу голодну наповнив добром!

For he satisfieth the longing soul, And the hungry soul he filleth with good.

10 Т і, хто перебував був у темряві та в смертній тіні, то в'язні біди та заліза,

Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being bound in affliction and iron,

11 б о вони спротивлялися Божим словам, і відкинули раду Всевишнього.

Because they rebelled against the words of God, And contemned the counsel of the Most High:

12 Т а Він упокорив їхнє серце терпінням, спіткнулись вони і ніхто не поміг,

Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.

13 і в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх!

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.

14 і Він вивів їх з темряви й мороку, їхні ж кайдани сторощив.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bonds in sunder.

15 Н ехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість Його, та за чуда Його синам людським,

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 б о Він поламав мідні двері, і засуви залізні зрубав!

For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 Н ерозумні страждали за грішну дорогу свою й за свої беззаконня.

Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 Д уша їхня від усякої їжі відверталася, і дійшли вони аж до брам смерти,

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; And they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 і в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх,

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 В ін послав Своє слово та їх уздоровив, і їх урятував з їхньої хвороби!

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, And delivereth them from their destructions.

21 Н ехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість Його та за чуда Його синам людським,

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 і хай жертви подяки приносять, і хай розповідають зо співом про чини Його!

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare his works with singing.

23 Т і, хто по морю пливе кораблями, хто чинить зайняття своє на великій воді,

They that go down to the sea in ships, That do business in great waters;

24 в они бачили чини Господні та чуда Його в глибині!

These see the works of Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep.

25 В ін скаже і буря зривається, і підносяться хвилі Його,

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 д о неба вони підіймаються, до безодні спадають, у небезпеці душа їхня хвилюється!

They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

27 В они крутяться й ходять вперед та назад, як п'яний, і вся їхня мудрість бентежиться!

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end.

28 Т а в недолі своїй вони Господа кликали, і Він визволяв їх від утисків їхніх!

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 В ін змінює бурю на тишу, і стихають їхні хвилі,

He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

30 і раділи, що втихли вони, і Він їх привів до бажаної пристані.

Then are they glad because they are quiet; So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Н ехай же подяку складуть Господеві за милість, та за чуда Його синам людським!

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Н ехай величають Його на народньому зборі, і нехай вихваляють Його на засіданні старших!

Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, And praise him in the seat of the elders.

33 В ін обертає річки в пустиню, а водні джерела на суходіл,

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, And watersprings into a thirsty ground;

34 п лодючу землю на солончак через злобу мешканців її.

A fruitful land into a salt desert, For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 В ін пустиню обертає в водне болото, а землю суху в джерело,

He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.

36 і голодних садовить Він там, а вони ставлять місто на мешкання,

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, That they may prepare a city of habitation,

37 і поля засівають, і виноградники садять, і отримують плід урожаю!

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, And get them fruits of increase.

38 і благословляє Він їх, і сильно розмножуються, і одержують плід урожаю!

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; And he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Т а змаліли вони й похилилися з утиску злого та з смутку.

Again, they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

40 В иливає Він ганьбу на можних, і блудять вони без дороги в пустині,

He poureth contempt upon princes, And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

41 а вбогого Він підіймає з убозтва, і розмножує роди, немов ту отару.

Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction, And maketh him families like a flock.

42 Ц е бачать правдиві й радіють, і закриває уста свої всяке безправ'я.

The upright shall see it, and be glad; And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Х то мудрий, той все це завважить, і познають вони милосердя Господнє!
