1 A LABAD á Jehová, porque es bueno; Porque para siempre es su misericordia.

O give thanks unto Jehovah; For he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

2 D igan lo los redimidos de Jehová, Los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo,

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

3 Y los ha congregado de las tierras, Del oriente y del occidente, Del aquilón y de la mar.

And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

4 A nduvieron perdidos por el desierto, por la soledad sin camino, No hallando ciudad de población.

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; They found no city of habitation.

5 H ambrientos y sedientos, Su alma desfallecía en ellos.

Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.

6 H abiendo empero clamado á Jehová en su angustia, Librólos de sus aflicciones:

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses,

7 Y dirigiólos por camino derecho, Para que viniesen á ciudad de población.

He led them also by a straight way, That they might go to a city of habitation.

8 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 P orque sació al alma menesterosa, Y llenó de bien al alma hambrienta.

For he satisfieth the longing soul, And the hungry soul he filleth with good.

10 L os que moraban en tinieblas y sombra de muerte, Aprisionados en aflicción y en hierros;

Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being bound in affliction and iron,

11 P or cuanto fueron rebeldes á las palabras de Jehová, Y aborrecieron el consejo del Altísimo.

Because they rebelled against the words of God, And contemned the counsel of the Most High:

12 P or lo que quebrantó él con trabajo sus corazones, Cayeron y no hubo quien los ayudase;

Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.

13 L uego que clamaron á Jehová en su angustia, Librólos de sus aflicciones.

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.

14 S acólos de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte, Y rompió sus prisiones.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bonds in sunder.

15 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 P orque quebrantó las puertas de bronce, Y desmenuzó los cerrojos de hierro.

For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 L os insensatos, á causa del camino de su rebelión Y á causa de sus maldades, fueron afligidos.

Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 S u alma abominó toda vianda, Y llegaron hasta las puertas de la muerte.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; And they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 M as clamaron á Jehová en su angustia, Y salvólos de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 E nvió su palabra, y curólos, Y librólos de su ruina.

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, And delivereth them from their destructions.

21 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres:

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 Y sacrifiquen sacrificios de alabanza, Y publiquen sus obras con júbilo.

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare his works with singing.

23 L os que descienden á la mar en navíos, Y hacen negocio en las muchas aguas,

They that go down to the sea in ships, That do business in great waters;

24 E llos han visto las obras de Jehová, Y sus maravillas en el profundo.

These see the works of Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep.

25 E l dijo, é hizo saltar el viento de la tempestad, Que levanta sus ondas.

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 S uben á los cielos, descienden á los abismos: Sus almas se derriten con el mal.

They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

27 T iemblan, y titubean como borrachos, Y toda su ciencia es perdida.

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end.

28 C laman empero á Jehová en su angustia, Y líbralos de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 H ace parar la tempestad en sosiego, Y se apaciguan sus ondas.

He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

30 A légranse luego porque se reposaron; Y él los guía al puerto que deseaban.

Then are they glad because they are quiet; So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Y ensálcenlo en la congregación del pueblo; Y en consistorio de ancianos lo alaben.

Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, And praise him in the seat of the elders.

33 E l vuelve los ríos en desierto, Y los manantiales de las aguas en secadales;

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, And watersprings into a thirsty ground;

34 L a tierra fructífera en salados, Por la maldad de los que la habitan.

A fruitful land into a salt desert, For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 V uelve el desierto en estanques de aguas, Y la tierra seca en manantiales.

He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.

36 Y allí aposenta á los hambrientos, Y disponen ciudad para habitación;

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, That they may prepare a city of habitation,

37 Y siembran campos, y plantan viñas, Y rinden crecido fruto.

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, And get them fruits of increase.

38 Y los bendice, y se multiplican en gran manera; Y no disminuye sus bestias.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; And he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Y luego son menoscabados y abatidos A causa de tiranía, de males y congojas.

Again, they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

40 E l derrama menosprecio sobre los príncipes, Y les hace andar errados, vagabundos, sin camino:

He poureth contempt upon princes, And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

41 Y levanta al pobre de la miseria, Y hace multiplicar las familias como rebaños de ovejas.

Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction, And maketh him families like a flock.

42 V ean los rectos, y alégrense; Y toda maldad cierre su boca.

The upright shall see it, and be glad; And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 ¿ Quién es sabio y guardará estas cosas, Y entenderá las misericordias de Jehová?
