1 A labad a Jehová, porque él es bueno; Porque para siempre es su misericordia.

O give thanks unto Jehovah; For he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

2 D íganlo los redimidos de Jehová, Los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo,

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

3 Y los ha congregado de las tierras, Del oriente y del occidente, Del norte y del sur.

And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

4 A nduvieron errantes por el desierto, por la soledad sin camino, Sin hallar ciudad en donde vivir.

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; They found no city of habitation.

5 H ambrientos y sedientos, Su alma desfallecía en ellos.

Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.

6 E ntonces clamaron a Jehová en su angustia, Y los libró de sus aflicciones.

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses,

7 L os dirigió por camino derecho, Para que viniesen a ciudad habitable.

He led them also by a straight way, That they might go to a city of habitation.

8 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 P orque sacia al alma menesterosa, Y llena de bien al alma hambrienta.

For he satisfieth the longing soul, And the hungry soul he filleth with good.

10 Y acían en tinieblas y sombra de muerte, Aprisionados en aflicción y en hierros,

Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being bound in affliction and iron,

11 P or cuanto fueron rebeldes a las palabras de Jehová, Y despreciaron el plan del Altísimo.

Because they rebelled against the words of God, And contemned the counsel of the Most High:

12 P or eso quebrantó con trabajos sus corazones; Cayeron, y no hubo quien les socorriese.

Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.

13 L uego que clamaron a Jehová en su angustia, Los libró de sus aflicciones;

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.

14 L os sacó de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte, Y rompió sus ataduras.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bonds in sunder.

15 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 P orque quebrantó las puertas de bronce, Y desmenuzó los cerrojos de hierro.

For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 F ueron afligidos los insensatos, a causa del camino de su rebelión Y a causa de sus maldades;

Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 S u alma abominó todo alimento, Y llegaron hasta las puertas de la muerte.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; And they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 P ero clamaron a Jehová en su angustia, Y los libró de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 E nvió su palabra, y los sanó, Y los libró de su ruina.

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, And delivereth them from their destructions.

21 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres;

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 O frezcan sacrificios de alabanza, Y publiquen sus obras con júbilo.

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare his works with singing.

23 L os que descienden al mar en naves, Y hacen negocio en las muchas aguas,

They that go down to the sea in ships, That do business in great waters;

24 E llos han visto las obras de Jehová, Y sus maravillas en las profundidades.

These see the works of Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep.

25 P orque habló, e hizo levantar un viento tempestuoso, Que encrespa sus olas.

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 S uben a los cielos, descienden a los abismos; Sus almas se desleían bajo el peso del mal.

They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

27 T iemblan y titubean como ebrios, Y toda su pericia es inútil.

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end.

28 E ntonces claman a Jehová en su angustia, Y los libra de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 C ambia la tempestad en sosiego, Y se apaciguan sus olas.

He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

30 L uego se alegran, porque se apaciguaron; Y así los guía al puerto que deseaban.

Then are they glad because they are quiet; So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 A laben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 E xáltenlo en la congregación del pueblo, Y en la reunión de los ancianos lo alaben.

Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, And praise him in the seat of the elders.

33 É l cambia los ríos en desierto, Y los manantiales de las aguas en sequedales;

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, And watersprings into a thirsty ground;

34 L a tierra fructífera en estéril, Por la maldad de los que la habitan.

A fruitful land into a salt desert, For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 T ransforma el desierto en estanques de aguas, Y la tierra seca en manantiales.

He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.

36 A llí establece a los hambrientos, Y fundan ciudad en donde vivir.

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, That they may prepare a city of habitation,

37 S iembran campos, y plantan viñas, Que producen abundante cosecha.

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, And get them fruits of increase.

38 L os bendice, y se multiplican en gran manera; Y no disminuye su ganado.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; And he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 S i son menoscabados y abatidos Bajo el peso de infortunios y congojas,

Again, they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

40 É l esparce menosprecio sobre los príncipes, Y les hace andar errantes, en un desierto sin camino.

He poureth contempt upon princes, And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

41 M as él levanta de la miseria al pobre, Y hace multiplicar las familias como rebaños de ovejas.

Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction, And maketh him families like a flock.

42 V éanlo los rectos, y alégrense, Y todos los malos cierren su boca.

The upright shall see it, and be glad; And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 ¿ Quién es sabio y guardará estas cosas, Y entenderá las misericordias de Jehová?
