And Reaiah the son of Shobal begat Jahath; and Jahath begat Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.

3 Y estas son las del padre de Etam: Jizreel, Ismá e Ibdás. Y el nombre de su hermana fue Hazlelponi.

And these were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi;

4 P enuel fue padre de Gedor, y Ézer padre de Husá. Éstos fueron los hijos de Hur primogénito de Efratá, padre de Belén.

and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the first-born of Ephrathah, the father of Beth-lehem.

5 A sur padre de Técoa tuvo dos mujeres, Helá y Naará.

And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6 Y Naará dio a luz a Ahuzam, Héfer, Temení y Ahastarí. Éstos fueron los hijos de Naará.

9 Y Jabés fue más ilustre que sus hermanos, al cual su madre llamó Jabés, diciendo: Por cuanto lo di a luz en dolor.

And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

10 E invocó Jabés al Dios de Israel, diciendo: ¡Oh, si me dieras bendición, y ensancharas mi territorio, y si tu mano estuviera conmigo, y me libraras de mal, para que no me dañe! Y le otorgó Dios lo que pidió.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it be not to my sorrow! And God granted him that which he requested.

11 Q uelub hermano de Suá engendró a Mehir, el cual fue padre de Estón.

And Chelub the brother of Shuhah begat Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 Y Estón engendró a Bet-rafá, a Paséah, y a Tehiná padre de la ciudad de Nahás; éstos son los varones de Recá.

And Eshton begat Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These are the men of Recah.

13 L os hijos de Cenaz: Otoniel y Seraías. Los hijos de Otoniel: Hatat,

And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel: Hathath.

14 y Meonotay, el cual engendró a Ofrá. Y Seraías engendró a Joab, padre de los habitantes del valle de Harasim, porque fueron artífices.

And Meonothai begat Ophrah: and Seraiah begat Joab the father of Ge-harashim; for they were craftsmen.

15 L os hijos de Caleb hijo de Jefuné: Iru, Elá y Náam; e hijo de Elá fue Cenaz.

And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah; and Kenaz.

16 L os hijos de Jehalelel: Zif, Zifá, Tiryá y Asareel.

And the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17 Y los hijos de Ezrá: Jéter, Méred, Éfer y Jalón; también engendró a Miryam, a Samay y a Isbá padre de Estemoa.

And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she bare Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18 Y su mujer Jehudaía dio a luz a Jéred padre de Gedor, a Héber padre de Socó y a Jecutiel padre de Zanoa. Éstos fueron los hijos de Bityá hija de Faraón, con la cual se casó Méred.

23 É stos eran alfareros, y moraban en medio de plantíos y cercados; moraban allí con el rey, ocupados en su servicio. Descendientes de Simeón

These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah: there they dwelt with the king for his work.

24 L os hijos de Simeón: Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera, Saúl,

The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

25 y Salum su hijo, Mibsam su hijo y Mismá su hijo.

27 L os hijos de Simeí fueron dieciséis, y seis hijas; pero sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, ni multiplicaron toda su familia como los hijos de Judá.

And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply like to the children of Judah.

28 Y habitaron en Beerseba, Moladá, Hazar-sual,

And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,

29 B ilhá, Ézem, Tolad,

and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,

30 B etuel, Hormá, Siclag,

and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,

31 B et-marcabot, Hazar-susim, Betbirí y Saaráyim. Éstas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reinado de David.

and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.

32 Y sus aldeas fueron Etam, Ayin, Rimón, Toquen y Asán; cinco pueblos,

And their villages were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;

33 y todas sus aldeas que estaban en torno a estas ciudades hasta Baal. Ésta fue su habitación, y ésta su descendencia.

and all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and they have their genealogy.

34 Y Mesobab, Jamlec, Josías hijo de Amasías,

And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,

35 J oel, Jehú hijo de Josibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel,

and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 E lyoenay, Jaacobá, Jesohaía, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaía,

and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 y Zizá hijo de Sifí, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simrí, hijo de Semaías.

and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah-

38 É stos, por sus nombres, son los principales entre sus familias; y las casas de sus padres fueron multiplicadas en gran manera.

these mentioned by name were princes in their families: and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

39 Y llegaron hasta la entrada de Gedor hasta el oriente del valle, buscando pastos para sus ganados.

And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even unto the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 Y hallaron gruesos y buenos pastos, y tierra ancha y espaciosa, quieta y reposada, porque los de Cam la habitaban antes.

And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they that dwelt there aforetime were of Ham.

41 Y estos que han sido escritos por sus nombres, vinieron en días de Ezequías rey de Judá, y desbarataron sus tiendas y cabañas que allí hallaron, y los destruyeron hasta hoy, y habitaron allí en lugar de ellos; por cuanto había allí pastos para sus ganados.

And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their stead; because there was pasture there for their flocks.

42 A simismo quinientos hombres de ellos, de los hijos de Simeón, fueron al monte de Seír, llevando por capitanes a Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isí.

And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43 y destruyeron a los que habían quedado de Amalec, y habitaron allí hasta hoy.

And they smote the remnant of the Amalekites that escaped, and have dwelt there unto this day.
