1 R espondió Job, y dijo:

Then Job answered and said,

2 ¿ En qué ayudaste al que no tiene poder? ¿Cómo has amparado al brazo sin fuerza?

How hast thou helped him that is without power! How hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!

3 ¿ En qué aconsejaste al que no tiene conocimientos, Y qué hábil talento has dado a conocer?

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

4 ¿ A quién has dirigido tus palabras, Y de quién es el espíritu que de ti procede?

To whom hast thou uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from thee?

5 L as sombras tiemblan en lo profundo de los mares, Y sus habitantes se estremecen.

They that are deceased tremble Beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.

6 E l Seol está descubierto delante de él, y el Abadón no tiene cobertura.

Sheol is naked before God, And Abaddon hath no covering.

7 É l extiende el norte sobre vacío, Cuelga la tierra sobre la nada.

He stretcheth out the north over empty space, And hangeth the earth upon nothing.

8 A ta las aguas en sus nubes, Y las nubes no se rompen debajo de ellas.

He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; And the cloud is not rent under them.

9 É l encubre la faz de su trono, Y sobre él extiende su nube.

He incloseth the face of his throne, And spreadeth his cloud upon it.

10 P uso límite a la superficie de las aguas, Hasta el confín entre la luz y las tinieblas.

He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, Unto the confines of light and darkness.

11 L as columnas del cielo tiemblan, Y se espantan ante su reprensión.

The pillars of heaven tremble And are astonished at his rebuke.

12 É l aquieta el mar con su poder, Y con su entendimiento hiere la arrogancia suya.

He stirreth up the sea with his power, And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.

13 S u espíritu serenó los cielos; Su mano traspasó la serpiente tortuosa.

By his Spirit the heavens are garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent.

14 H e aquí, estas cosas son sólo los bordes de sus caminos; ¡Y cuán leve es el susurro que hemos oído de él! Pero el trueno de su poder, ¿quién lo puede comprender?

Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways: And how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?
