1 J EHOVA, Dios de las venganzas, Dios de las venganzas, muéstrate.

O Jehovah, thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.

2 E nsálzate, oh Juez de la tierra: Da el pago á los soberbios.

Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: Render to the proud their desert.

3 ¿ Hasta cuándo los impíos, Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, se gozarán los impíos?

Jehovah, how long shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph?

4 ¿ Hasta cuándo pronunciarán, hablarán cosas duras, Y se vanagloriarán todos los que obran iniquidad?

They prate, they speak arrogantly: All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.

5 A tu pueblo, oh Jehová, quebrantan, Y á tu heredad afligen.

They break in pieces thy people, O Jehovah, And afflict thy heritage.

6 A la viuda y al extranjero matan, Y á los huérfanos quitan la vida.

They slay the widow and the sojourner, And murder the fatherless.

7 Y dijeron: No verá JAH, Ni entenderá el Dios de Jacob.

And they say, Jehovah will not see, Neither will the God of Jacob consider.

8 E ntended, necios del pueblo; Y vosotros fatuos, ¿cuándo seréis sabios?

Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?

9 E l que plantó el oído, ¿no oirá? El que formó el ojo, ¿no verá?

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 E l que castiga las gentes, ¿no reprenderá? ¿No sabrá el que enseña al hombre la ciencia?

He that chastiseth the nations, shall not he correct, Even he that teacheth man knowledge?

11 J ehová conoce los pensamientos de los hombres, Que son vanidad.

Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, That they are vanity.

12 B ienaventurado el hombre á quien tú, JAH, castigares, Y en tu ley lo instruyeres;

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;

13 P ara tranquilizarle en los días de aflicción, En tanto que para el impío se cava el hoyo.

That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit be digged for the wicked.

14 P orque no dejará Jehová su pueblo, Ni desamparará su heredad;

For Jehovah will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15 S ino que el juicio será vuelto á justicia, Y en pos de ella irán todos los rectos de corazón.

For judgment shall return unto righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 ¿ Quién se levantará por mí contra los malignos? ¿Quién estará por mí contra los que obran iniquidad?

Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 S i no me ayudara Jehová, Presto morara mi alma en el silencio.

Unless Jehovah had been my help, My soul had soon dwelt in silence.

18 C uando yo decía: Mi pie resbala: Tu misericordia, oh Jehová, me sustentaba.

When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up.

19 E n la multitud de mis pensamientos dentro de mí, Tus consolaciones alegraban mi alma.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.

20 ¿ Juntaráse contigo el trono de iniquidades, Que forma agravio en el mandamiento?

Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by statute?

21 P ónense en corros contra la vida del justo, Y condenan la sangre inocente.

They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood.

22 M as Jehová me ha sido por refugio; Y mi Dios por roca de mi confianza.

But Jehovah hath been my high tower, And my God the rock of my refuge.

23 Y él hará tornar sobre ellos su iniquidad, Y los destruirá por su propia maldad; Los talará Jehová nuestro Dios.

And he hath brought upon them their own iniquity, And will cut them off in their own wickedness; Jehovah our God will cut them off.
