1 S almo de Asaph. OH Dios, vinieron las gentes á tu heredad; El templo de tu santidad han contaminado; Pusieron á Jerusalem en montones.

O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

2 D ieron los cuerpos de tus siervos por comida á las aves de los cielos; La carne de tus santos á las bestias de la tierra.

The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be food unto the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

3 D erramaron su sangre como agua en los alrededores de Jerusalem; Y no hubo quien los enterrase.

Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; And there was none to bury them.

4 S omos afrentados de nuestros vecinos, Escarnecidos y burlados de los que están en nuestros alrededores.

We are become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to them that are round about us.

5 ¿ Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová? ¿has de estar airado para siempre? ¿Arderá como fuego tu celo?

How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

6 D errama tu ira sobre las gentes que no te conocen, Y sobre los reinos que no invocan tu nombre.

Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name.

7 P orque han consumido á Jacob, Y su morada han asolado.

For they have devoured Jacob, And laid waste his habitation.

8 N o recuerdes contra nosotros las iniquidades antiguas: Anticípennos presto tus misericordias, Porque estamos muy abatidos.

Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers: Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us; For we are brought very low.

9 A yúdanos, oh Dios, salud nuestra, por la gloria de tu nombre: Y líbranos, y aplácate sobre nuestros pecados por amor de tu nombre.

Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name; And deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name's sake.

10 P orque dirán las gentes: ¿Dónde está su Dios? Sea notoria en las gentes, delante de nuestros ojos, La venganza de la sangre de tus siervos, que fué derramada.

Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed Be known among the nations in our sight.

11 E ntre ante tu acatamiento el gemido de los presos: Conforme á la grandeza de tu brazo preserva á los sentenciados á muerte.

Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee: According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;

12 Y torna á nuestros vecinos en su seno siete tantos De su infamia, con que te han deshonrado, oh Jehová.

And render unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

13 Y nosotros, pueblo tuyo, y ovejas de tu dehesa, Te alabaremos para siempre: Por generación y generación cantaremos tus alabanzas.

So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture Will give thee thanks for ever: We will show forth thy praise to all generations.
