1 І промовив Господь до Мойсея: Витеши собі дві кам'яні таблиці, як перші, і Я напишу на цих таблицях слова, що були на перших таблицях, які ти розбив.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables, which thou brakest.

2 І приготовся на рано. І вийдеш рано вранці на гору Сінай, і станеш Мені там на верхів'ї гори.

And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me on the top of the mount.

3 А з тобою ніхто не вийде, і на всій горі нехай нікого не буде видно. І також дрібна худоба й худоба велика нехай не пасеться навпроти тієї гори.

And no man shall come up with thee; neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.

4 І витесав він дві кам'яні таблиці, як перші. І встав Мойсей рано вранці, та й вийшов на гору Сінай, як Господь звелів був йому. І взяв він у руку свою дві таблиці кам'яні.

And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as Jehovah had commanded him, and took in his hand two tables of stone.

5 А Господь зійшов у хмарі, і став там із ним, та й покликав Ім'ям Господа.

And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.

6 І перейшов Господь перед лицем його, та й викликнув: Господь, Господь, Бог милосердний, і милостивий, довготерпеливий, і многомилостивий та правдивий,

And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth,

7 щ о дотримує милість для тисяч, що вибачає провину й переступ та гріх, та певне не вважає чистим винуватого, бо карає провину батьків на дітях, і на дітях дітей, і на третіх, і на четвертих поколіннях.

keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.

8 І Мойсей поквапно вклонився до землі, і впав,

And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.

9 т а й сказав: Якщо я знайшов милість в очах Твоїх, Владико, то нехай же Владика йде серед нас, бо народ цей твердошиїй. І Ти пробачиш нашу провину та наш гріх, і зробиш нас спадком Своїм.

And he said, If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

10 А Він відказав: Ось Я складаю заповіта перед усім народом твоїм. Я чинитиму чуда, які не були творені на всій землі і в жодного народу. І побачить увесь народ, серед якого ти знаходишся, чин Господній, що Я чиню його з тобою, який він страшний!

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of Jehovah; for it is a terrible thing that I do with thee.

11 В иконуй те, що Я наказую тобі сьогодні. Ось Я виганяю перед тобою амореянина, і ханаанеянина, і хіттеянина, і періззеянина, і хіввеянина, і євусеянина.

Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

12 С тережися, щоб не склав ти умови з мешканцем тієї землі, що ти входиш на неї, щоб він не став пасткою серед тебе.

Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

13 Б о ви їхні жертівники поруйнуєте, а їхні камінні стовпи для богів поторощите, а їхні дерева святі повирубуєте.

but ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their Asherim;

14 Б о не будеш ти кланятись богові іншому, бо Господь Заздрісний ім'я Його, Бог заздрісний Він!

for thou shalt worship no other god: for Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

15 Щ об не склав ти умови з мешканцем Краю, як будуть вони любодіяти вслід за богами своїми, і будуть богам своїм жертви приносити, то якщо він покличе тебе, то ти не будеш їсти із жертви його.

lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot after their gods, and sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee and thou eat of his sacrifice;

16 І не візьмеш із дочок його для синів своїх, бо будуть вони любодіяти вслід за богами своїми, і вчинять розпусниками синів твоїх вслід за богами своїми.

and thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters play the harlot after their gods, and make thy sons play the harlot after their gods.

17 Л итих богів не зробиш собі.

Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

18 Б удеш виконувати свято Опрісноків. Сім день будеш їсти опрісноки, що Я наказав був тобі на умовлений час місяця авіва, бо в місяці авіві ти вийшов з Єгипту.

The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib; for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.

19 У се, що відкриває утробу то Моє, як і всяка твоя худоба, що є самець, відкриття утроби вола та вівці.

All that openeth the womb is mine; and all thy cattle that is male, the firstlings of cow and sheep.

20 А відкриття утроби осла викупиш ягням. А якщо його не викупиш, то заб'єш його, зламавши шию. Кожного перворідного з синів твоїх викупиш. І не будуть являтися перед обличчя Моє з порожньою рукою.

And the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck. All the first-born of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

21 Ш ість день будеш працювати, а дня сьомого спочинеш від праці; в орці й у жнива спочинеш від праці.

Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in plowing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

22 І свято тижнів зробиш собі, і первоплоду жнив пшениці, і свято збору врожаю під кінець року.

And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, even of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.

23 Т ричі в році вся чоловіча стать буде являтися перед лице Владики Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого.

Three times in the year shall all thy males appear before the Lord Jehovah, the God of Israel.

24 Б о Я вижену людей перед лицем твоїм, і розширю границю твою, і ніхто не запрагне твоєї землі, коли ти ходитимеш являтися перед лице Господа, Бога твого, тричі в році.

For I will cast out nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou goest up to appear before Jehovah thy God three times in the year.

25 Н е будеш приносити на квашенім крови жертви твоєї, і не переночує до рана святкова жертва Пасхи.

Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

26 П очаток первоплодів твоєї землі принесеш у дім Господа, Бога твого. Не будеш варити ягняти в молоці його матері.

The first of the first-fruits of thy ground thou shalt bring unto the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

27 І промовив Господь до Мойсея: Напиши собі слова, бо згідно з цими словами склав Я заповіта з тобою та з Ізраїлем.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.

28 І був він там з Господом сорок день і сорок ночей, хліба не їв і води не пив. І написав на таблицях слова Заповіту, Десять Заповідей.

And he was there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

29 І сталося, коли сходив Мойсей з гори Сінай, а обидві таблиці свідоцтва в Мойсеєвій руці при сході його з гори, що Мойсей не знав, що лице його стало променіти, бо Бог говорив з ним.

And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses knew not that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.

30 І побачив Аарон та всі Ізраїлеві сини Мойсея, аж ось лице його променіло, і вони боялися підійти до нього!

And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

31 І кликнув до них Мойсей, і звернулися до нього Аарон та всі начальники в громаді. І Мойсей говорив до них.

And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses spake to them.

32 А потім попідходили всі Ізраїлеві сини, і він наказав їм усе, що Господь говорив з ним на горі Сінай.

And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that Jehovah had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 І скінчив Мойсей говорити з ними, і дав на лице своє покривало.

And when Moses had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

34 А коли Мойсей входив перед Господнє лице на розмову з Ним, то здіймав покривало аж до свого виходу. І він виходив, і говорив до Ізраїлевих синів, що було наказано йому.

But when Moses went in before Jehovah to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

35 І бачили Ізраїлеві сини лице Мойсеєве, що променіло лице Мойсеєве. І Мойсей знов накладав покривало на лице своє аж до відходу свого, щоб говорити з Ним.

And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the veil upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
