Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.

3 D al sol levante fino al ponente sia lodato il nome del Signore.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the LORD’s name is to be praised.

4 I l Signore è superiore a tutte le nazioni e la sua gloria è al di sopra dei cieli.

The LORD is high above all Gentiles and his glory above the heavens.

5 C hi è simile al Signore, al nostro Dio, che siede sul trono in alto,

Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwells on high,

6 c he si abbassa a guardare nei cieli e sulla terra?

who humbles himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth!

7 E gli rialza il misero dalla polvere e solleva il povero dal letame,

He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts the destitute out of the dunghill;

8 p er farlo sedere con i prìncipi, con i prìncipi del suo popolo.

that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

9 F a abitare la sterile in famiglia, quale madre felice tra i suoi figli. Alleluia.
