1 A fter these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;

После этого Павел покинул Афины и отправился в Коринф.

2 A nd found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

Там он встретил иудея по имени Акила, уроженца Понта. Тот недавно прибыл из Италии со своей женой Прискиллой (потому что кесарь Клавдий приказал всем иудеям покинуть Рим), и Павел пришел навестить их.

3 A nd because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

У них было одно ремесло с Павлом: они изготавливали палатки, и поэтому Павел остался работать с ними.

4 A nd he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Каждую субботу он рассуждал в синагоге с иудеями и греками, пытаясь их убедить.

5 A nd when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

Когда из Македонии пришли Сила и Тимофей, то Павел посвятил все свое время возвещению слова, свидетельствуя иудеям о том, что Иисус – Христос.

6 A nd when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

Когда же они стали препятствовать ему и оскорблять его, он отряхнул пыль с одежды и сказал им: – Вы сами повинны в своей гибели! Я чист, и теперь я иду к язычникам.

7 A nd he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

Павел вышел из синагоги и пошел в дом, стоявший рядом, в котором жил Титий Иуст, человек, чтущий Бога.

8 A nd Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

Начальник синагоги Крисп и все его домашние поверили в Господа. И многие из коринфян, слышавших Павла, уверовали и были крещены.

9 T hen spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

Однажды ночью Господь сказал Павлу в видении: – Не бойся! Продолжай говорить и не умолкай.

10 F or I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Я с тобой, и никто не причинит тебе вреда. В этом городе есть много принадлежащих Мне людей.

11 A nd he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

И Павел провел там полтора года, уча их слову Божьему.

12 A nd when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

В то время, когда Галлион был правителем провинции Ахаия, иудеи, собравшись, напали на Павла и привели его на суд.

13 S aying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

Они стали обвинять его: – Этот человек убеждает людей чтить Бога не так, как учит наш Закон.

14 A nd when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:

Павел не успел еще ничего сказать, когда Галлион обратился к обвинителям: – Иудеи, если бы вы обвиняли его в каком-либо правонарушении или же серьезном преступлении, то у меня было бы основание принять вашу жалобу.

15 B ut if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

Но так как здесь идет спор об учении, именах и вашем Законе, то решайте эти вопросы сами. Я не желаю быть судьей в подобных делах.

16 A nd he drave them from the judgment seat.

И он прогнал их из суда.

17 T hen all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

Тогда все схватили начальника синагоги Сосфена и избили его перед зданием суда, но Галлион не проявил к этому никакого интереса. Возвращение Павла в Антиохию

18 A nd Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

Павел пробыл еще много дней в Коринфе. Затем он простился с братьями и вместе с Прискиллой и Акилой отплыл в Сирию. Перед отплытием Павел остриг волосы в Кенхреях, потому что некогда дал обет Богу.

19 A nd he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

Они прибыли в Эфес, где Павел оставил Прискиллу и Акилу, а сам пошел в синагогу и рассуждал там с иудеями.

20 W hen they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;

Они просили его остаться у них еще на некоторое время, но он отказался.

21 B ut bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

– Я вернусь, если на то будет Божья воля, – пообещал Павел на прощание и отплыл из Эфеса.

22 A nd when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.

Он сошел с корабля в Кесарии, пришел в Иерусалим и, поприветствовав местную церковь, отправился в Антиохию.

23 A nd after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

Проведя некоторое время в Антиохии, Павел отправился оттуда в путь через галатийскую область и Фригию, укрепляя всех учеников. Служение Аполлоса в Эфесе

24 A nd a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

В Эфес тем временем пришел иудей по имени Аполлос, родом из Александрии, человек образованный и хорошо знающий Писания.

25 T his man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Он был научен Пути Господа и говорил очень горячо и убедительно, правильно уча об Иисусе, хотя сам он знал только крещение Иоанна.

26 A nd he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

Аполлос начал смело говорил в синагоге, и когда Прискилла и Акила его услышали, они пригласили его к себе и точнее объяснили ему Путь Божий.

27 A nd when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

Аполлос хотел идти в Ахаию, и братья, поощряя его, написали письмо ученикам, живущим там, с просьбой принять Аполлоса. Когда он пришел туда, то оказал большую помощь тем, кто по Божьей благодати уверовал.

28 F or he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Аполлос убедительно опровергал иудеев в открытых диспутах, доказывая Писаниями, что Христос – это и есть Иисус.
