1 G ive ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

2 M y doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

Пусть польется мое учение, словно дождь, пусть сойдут мои слова, как роса, словно ливень на зелень, как дождь на побеги.

3 B ecause I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

Имя Господа провозглашу, славьте величие нашего Бога!

4 H e is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Он – скала, Его дела совершенны, все Его пути праведны. Верен Бог, не творящий неправды, Он праведен и честен.

5 T hey have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

Перед Ним они развратились, и не дети они Ему, но род упрямый и извращенный, к своему стыду

6 D o ye thus requite the Lord, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Так ли воздаете вы Господу, народ безрассудный и глупый? Разве Он не Отец, не Творец твой, Тот, Кто создал, основал тебя?

7 R emember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

Вспомни древние дни; подумай об ушедших поколениях. Спроси своего отца, и он скажет тебе, своих старейшин, и они объяснят тебе.

8 W hen the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

Когда Всевышний давал народам их наследие, когда Он разделил весь человеческий род, Он поставил пределы народов по числу сыновей Израиля.

9 F or the Lord 's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

Ведь доля Господня – Его народ, Иаков – наследственный Его удел.

10 H e found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

В пустынной земле Он его нашел, в степи печальной и дикой. Ограждал его, пекся о нем; хранил его, как зеницу Своего ока.

11 A s an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

Как орел вызывает свое гнездо и парит над своими птенцами, простирает свои крылья, берет птенцов и несет на своих перьях,

12 S o the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

Господь Один его вел; чужого бога не было с Ним.

13 H e made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

Он вознес его на высоты земли и питал плодами полей. Он кормил его медом из сот, что в скалистых расщелинах и маслом из оливкового дерева, что растет на каменистой почве,

14 B utter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

маслом и молоком от стада и отары, упитанными ягнятами и козлами, лучшими баранами Башана и отборной пшеницей. Ты пил вино, кровь винограда.

15 B ut Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

Ешурун растолстел и стал упрям; растолстел, обрюзг, разжирел. Он оставил Бога, Который создал его, и отверг Скалу своего спасения.

16 T hey provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

Они возбудили в Нем ревность чужими богами и разгневали Его мерзкими идолами.

17 T hey sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

Они приносили жертвы демонам, а не Богу, – богам, которых не знали, богам, появившимся недавно, богам, которых ваши отцы не боялись.

18 O f the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

Ты покинул Скалу, родившую тебя; ты забыл Бога, создавшего тебя.

19 A nd when the Lord saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

Господь увидел это и отверг их, так как разгневался на Своих сыновей и дочерей.

20 A nd he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

“Я скрою от них Свое лицо, – сказал Он, – и увижу, каков будет их конец; потому что они – извращенный род, неверные дети.

21 T hey have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

Они пробудили во Мне ревность всем тем, что не Бог, и разгневали Меня ничтожными идолами. Я пробужу в них ревность через тех, кого и народом-то не назвать; Я разгневаю их глупым народом.

22 F or a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Потому что от Моего гнева запылал огонь, что жжет до дна мира мертвых. Он пожрет землю и ее урожаи и подожжет основания гор.

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

Я соберу на них беды, выпущу в них Свои стрелы.

24 T hey shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

Я пошлю на них опустошительный голод, истребляющий мор и смертельную заразу; Я пошлю на них хищных зверей, ядовитых змей, что ползают в прахе.

25 T he sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

На улицах меч лишит их детей, в их домах будет царить ужас. Будут гибнуть юноши и девушки, младенцы и седовласые старики.

26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

Я сказал бы: рассею их и изглажу их память из человеческого рода,

27 W ere it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the Lord hath not done all this.

если бы не опасался насмешек врагов, чтобы противники не возомнили о себе и не сказали: «Нашей руки торжество; не Господь совершил все это»”.

28 F or they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

Это народ, потерявший рассудок, нет у них разума.

29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

О если бы они были мудры, понимали бы это и уразумели, какой их ждет конец!

30 H ow should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?

Как мог бы один человек преследовать тысячу или двое обратить в бегство десять тысяч, если бы их Скала не отступилась от них, если бы Господь их не выдал?

31 F or their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Ведь их скала не такова, как наша Скала: сами наши враги – судьи в том.

32 F or their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

Их виноград с лозы Содома и с полей Гоморры. Их плоды полны яда, а их гроздья – горечи.

33 T heir wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

Их вино – яд змей, смертельный яд кобр.

34 I s not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

“Не сокрыто ли это у Меня? Не запечатано ли в Моих кладовых?

35 T o me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

Предоставьте месть Мне, Я воздам. Придет время, поскользнутся ноги врага; день их бедствия близок и участь их поспешает”.

36 F or the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

Господь будет судить Свой народ и пожалеет Своих слуг, когда увидит, что исчезла их сила и не осталось никого – ни раба, ни свободного.

37 A nd he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

И скажет Он: “Где же их боги, та скала, за которой они укрывались?

38 W hich did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

Боги, которые ели жир их жертв, пили вино их жертвенных возлияний? Пусть восстанут, чтобы помочь вам! Пусть дадут вам покров!

39 S ee now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

Смотрите же ныне, что только Я Бог, и нет Бога, кроме Меня. Я умерщвляю и оживляю, Я ранил и Я исцелю, и никто не может избавить от Моей руки.

40 F or I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

Я поднимаю руку к небу и объявляю: Верно, как и то, что Я живу вовеки, –

41 I f I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

когда отточу Свой сияющий меч и рука Моя примет его для суда, Я отомщу Своим противникам и воздам тем, кто Меня ненавидит.

42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

Я напою Свои стрелы кровью, а Мой меч будет пожирать плоть, кровь павших и пленных, головы вражеских вождей”.

43 R ejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

Радуйтесь, язычники, вместе с Его народом, потому что Он отомстит за кровь Своих слуг; отомстит Он Своим врагам, очистит Свою землю и Свой народ».

44 A nd Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

Моисей пришел с Иисусом, сыном Навина, и произнес народу все слова этой песни.

45 A nd Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:

Сказав эти слова всему Израилю, Моисей

46 A nd he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

добавил: – Примите к сердцу все слова, которые я торжественно возвестил вам сегодня, чтобы вы велели своим детям прилежно слушаться всех слов этого Закона.

47 F or it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

Для вас это не пустые слова: в них – ваша жизнь. Они дадут вам долго жить на земле, в которую вы переходите за Иордан, чтобы овладеть ею.

48 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,

В тот же день Господь сказал Моисею:

49 G et thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:

– Поднимись на горную цепь Аварим, на гору Нево в Моаве, напротив Иерихона, и осмотри Ханаан, землю, которую Я отдаю во владение израильтянам.

50 A nd die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

На этой горе, куда ты поднимешься, ты умрешь и присоединишься к своему народу так же, как твой брат Аарон умер на горе Ор и присоединился к своему народу.

51 B ecause ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

Это случится из-за того, что вы оба изменили Мне на виду у израильтян у вод Меривы в Кадеше, в пустыне Цин, и из-за того, что вы не отстаивали Мою святость среди израильтян.

52 Y et thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.

Поэтому ты увидишь ее только на расстоянии – ты не войдешь в землю, которую Я даю народу Израиля.
