1 A nd David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

Давид, построив себе дома в Городе Давида, приготовил место для Божьего ковчега и разбил для него шатер.

2 T hen David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Давид сказал: – Никто, кроме левитов, не может носить Божьего ковчега, потому что Господь избрал их носить ковчег Господа и служить Ему вовеки.

3 A nd David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

Давид собрал весь Израиль в Иерусалиме, чтобы перенести ковчег Господа на место, которое он для него приготовил.

4 A nd David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:

Он созвал потомков Аарона и левитов.

5 O f the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:

Из потомков Каафа вождя Уриила и 120 его родственников;

6 O f the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:

из потомков Мерари вождя Асаю и 220 его родственников;

7 O f the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief and his brethren an hundred and thirty:

из потомков Гершона вождя Иоиля и 130 его родственников;

8 O f the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:

из потомков Елицафана вождя Шемаю и 200 его родственников;

9 O f the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:

из потомков Хеврона вождя Елиела и 80 его родственников;

10 O f the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.

из потомков Узиила вождя Авинадава и 112 его родственников.

11 A nd David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

Затем Давид призвал священников Цадока и Авиатара и левитов Уриила, Асаю, Иоиля, Шемаю, Елиела и Авинадава

12 A nd said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

и сказал им: – Вы – главы левитских семейств. Вы и ваши собратья левиты должны освятиться и перенести ковчег Господа, Бога Израиля, на место, которое я для него приготовил.

13 F or because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

Ведь именно из-за того, что не вы, левиты, несли его в первый раз, Господь, наш Бог, обрушил на нас Свой гнев: мы не спросили Его, как исполнить это по предписанному.

14 S o the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.

Священники и левиты освятились, чтобы перенести ковчег Господа, Бога Израиля.

15 A nd the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.

Левиты понесли Божий ковчег на шестах, положив их себе на плечи, как повелел по слову Господа Моисей.

16 A nd David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

Давид сказал старейшинам левитов назначить из их собратьев певцов, чтобы петь радостные песни под музыкальные инструменты – лиры, арфы и тарелки.

17 S o the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

Левиты избрали Емана, сына Иоиля, из его братьев – Асафа, сына Берехии, а из их братьев мераритов – Етана, сына Кушаии;

18 A nd with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.

а также их братьев, следующих за ними по званию: Захарию, Иаазиила, Шемирамофа, Иехиила, Унния, Елиава, Ванею, Маасейю, Маттифию, Елифлеуя, Микнея, Овид-Эдома, Иеила – служащих у ворот.

19 S o the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

Музыканты Еман, Асаф и Етан должны были играть на бронзовых тарелках;

20 A nd Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;

Захария, Азиил, Шемирамоф, Иехиил, Унний, Елиав, Маасея и Ванея должны были играть на лирах под «аламот»,

21 A nd Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

а Маттифия, Елифлеуй, Микней, Овид-Эдом, Иеил и Азазия должны были играть на арфах, ведя свою партию под «шеминит».

22 A nd Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

Хенания, начальник левитов, должен был отвечать за пение, потому что он был в нем искусен.

23 A nd Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Берехия и Элкана охраняли ковчег.

24 A nd Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Священники Шевания, Иосафат, Нафанаил, Амасай, Захария, Ванея и Элиезер должны были трубить перед Божьим ковчегом в трубы. Овид-Эдом и Иехия тоже охраняли ковчег. Возвращение ковчега в Иерусалим (2 Цар. 6: 12-19)

25 S o David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy.

Давид и старейшины Израиля и тысячники пошли, чтобы с радостью перенести ковчег завета Господня из дома Овид-Эдома.

26 A nd it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

Так как Бог помог левитам, которые несли ковчег завета Господня, в жертву были принесены семь быков и семь баранов.

27 A nd David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.

Давид был одет в верхнюю одежду из лучшего льна, как и все левиты, которые несли ковчег, как певцы и Хенания, начальник у певцов. Еще на Давиде был льняной эфод.

28 T hus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

Так весь Израиль перенес ковчег завета Господня с радостными криками под звуки бараньих рогов, труб и тарелок, под музыку лир и арф.

29 A nd it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal, the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

Когда ковчег завета Господня входил в Город Давида, Михаль, дочь Саула, глядела из окна. Увидев царя Давида пляшущим и скачущим, она уничижила его в своем сердце.
