1 A nd David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

Hizo David también casas para sí en la Ciudad de David, y arregló un lugar para el Arca de Dios, y le levantó una tienda.

2 T hen David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Entonces dijo David: «El Arca de Dios no debe ser llevada sino por los levitas; porque a ellos ha elegido Jehová para que lleven el Arca de Jehová, y le sirvan perpetuamente.»

3 A nd David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

Congregó, pues, David a todo Israel en Jerusalén, para que llevaran el Arca de Jehová al lugar que él le había preparado.

4 A nd David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:

Reunió también David a los hijos de Aarón y a los levitas;

5 O f the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:

de los hijos de Coat, a Uriel, el jefe, y sus hermanos, ciento veinte.

6 O f the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:

De los hijos de Merari, a Asaías, el jefe, y sus hermanos, doscientos veinte.

7 O f the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief and his brethren an hundred and thirty:

De los hijos de Gersón, a Joel, el jefe, y sus hermanos, ciento treinta.

8 O f the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:

De los hijos de Elizafán, a Semaías, el jefe, y sus hermanos, doscientos.

9 O f the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:

De los hijos de Hebrón, a Eliel, el jefe, y sus hermanos, ochenta.

10 O f the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.

De los hijos de Uziel, a Aminadab, el jefe, y sus hermanos, ciento doce.

11 A nd David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

Luego llamó David a los sacerdotes Sadoc y Abiatar, y a los levitas Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semaías, Eliel y Aminadab,

12 A nd said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

y les dijo: «Vosotros, que sois los principales padres de las familias de los levitas, santificaos, vosotros y vuestros hermanos, y llevad el Arca de Jehová, Dios de Israel, al lugar que le he preparado;

13 F or because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

pues por no haberlo hecho así vosotros la primera vez, Jehová, nuestro Dios, nos quebrantó, por cuanto no le buscamos según su ordenanza.»

14 S o the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.

Se santificaron, pues, los sacerdotes y los levitas para traer el Arca de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

15 A nd the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the Lord.

Y los hijos de los levitas trajeron el Arca de Dios puesta sobre sus hombros en las barras, como lo había mandado Moisés, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

16 A nd David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

Asimismo dijo David a los principales de los levitas que designaran a cantores entre sus hermanos, con instrumentos de música, con salterios, arpas y címbalos, para que los hicieran resonar con alegría.

17 S o the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

Entonces los levitas designaron a Hemán hijo de Joel; y de sus hermanos, a Asaf hijo de Berequías; y de los hijos de Merari y de sus hermanos, a Etán hijo de Cusaías.

18 A nd with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.

Y con ellos a sus hermanos del segundo orden, a Zacarías, Jaaziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Benaía, Maasías, Matatías, Elifelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom y Jeiel, los porteros.

19 S o the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

Así, Hemán, Asaf y Etán, que eran cantores, tocaban címbalos de bronce.

20 A nd Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;

Zacarías, Aziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Maasías y Benaía tenían salterios sobre Alamot.

21 A nd Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

Matatías, Elifelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jeiel y Azazías, tenían arpas afinadas en la octava para dirigir.

22 A nd Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

Y Quenanías, jefe de los levitas en la música, fue puesto para dirigir el canto, porque era entendido en ello.

23 A nd Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Berequías y Elcana eran porteros del Arca.

24 A nd Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Sebanías, Josafat, Natanael, Amasai, Zacarías, Benaía y Eliezer, sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas delante del Arca de Dios; Obed-edom y Jehías eran también porteros del Arca.

25 S o David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy.

David, pues, junto a los ancianos de Israel y los capitanes de millares, fueron a traer el Arca del pacto de Jehová, de casa de Obed-edom, con alegría.

26 A nd it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

Como Dios ayudó a los levitas que llevaban el Arca del pacto de Jehová, sacrificaron siete novillos y siete carneros.

27 A nd David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.

Iba David vestido de lino fino, y también todos los levitas que llevaban el Arca, y asimismo los cantores; y Quenanías era maestro de canto entre los cantores. Llevaba también David sobre sí un efod de lino.

28 T hus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

De esta manera llevaba todo Israel el Arca del pacto de Jehová, con júbilo y sonido de bocinas, trompetas y címbalos, al son de salterios y arpas.

29 A nd it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal, the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

Cuando el Arca del pacto de Jehová llegó a la Ciudad de David, Mical, hija de Saúl, estaba mirando por una ventana; al ver al rey David que saltaba y danzaba, lo menospreció en su corazón.
