1 A nd it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.

Aconteció después de estas cosas, que el copero y el panadero del rey de Egipto delinquieron contra su señor, el rey de Egipto.

2 A nd Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.

Y se enojó el faraón contra sus dos oficiales, el jefe de los coperos y el jefe de los panaderos,

3 A nd he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.

y los puso en prisión en la casa del capitán de la guardia, en la cárcel donde José estaba preso.

4 A nd the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.

El capitán de la guardia encargó de ellos a José, para que los sirviera; y estuvieron durante un tiempo en la prisión.

5 A nd they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.

Sucedió que ambos, el copero y el panadero del rey de Egipto, que estaban arrestados en la prisión, tuvieron un sueño en la misma noche, cada uno su propio sueño, cada uno con su propio significado.

6 A nd Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.

Vino a ellos José por la mañana y vio que estaban tristes.

7 A nd he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?

Entonces preguntó a aquellos oficiales del faraón que estaban con él en la prisión de la casa de su señor: —¿Por qué tienen hoy mal aspecto vuestros semblantes?

8 A nd they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.

Ellos le dijeron: —Hemos tenido un sueño y no hay quien lo interprete. José les dijo: —¿No son de Dios las interpretaciones? Contádmelo ahora.

9 A nd the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;

Entonces el jefe de los coperos contó su sueño a José, y le dijo: —Yo soñaba que veía una vid delante de mí

10 A nd in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:

y en la vid, tres sarmientos; y ella echaba brotes, florecía y maduraban sus racimos de uvas.

11 A nd Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.

Y que la copa del faraón estaba en mi mano, y tomando yo las uvas las exprimía en la copa del faraón, y ponía la copa en la mano del faraón.

12 A nd Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:

José le dijo: —Ésta es su interpretación: los tres sarmientos son tres días.

13 Y et within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.

Al cabo de tres días levantará el faraón tu cabeza, te restituirá a tu puesto y darás la copa al faraón en su mano, como solías hacer cuando eras su copero.

14 B ut think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:

Acuérdate, pues, de mí cuando te vaya bien; te ruego que tengas misericordia y hagas mención de mí al faraón, y que me saques de esta casa,

15 F or indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.

porque fui raptado de la tierra de los hebreos y nada he hecho aquí para que me pusieran en la cárcel.

16 W hen the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:

Viendo el jefe de los panaderos que aquella interpretación había sido para bien, dijo a José: —También yo soñé que veía tres canastillos blancos sobre mi cabeza.

17 A nd in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.

En el canastillo más alto había toda clase de manjares de pastelería para el faraón, y las aves los comían del canastillo de sobre mi cabeza.

18 A nd Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:

Entonces respondió José, y dijo: —Ésta es su interpretación: Los tres canastillos son tres días.

19 Y et within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.

Al cabo de tres días quitará el faraón tu cabeza de sobre ti. Te hará colgar en la horca, y las aves comerán la carne que te cubre.

20 A nd it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

Al tercer día, que era el día del cumpleaños del faraón, el rey ofreció un banquete a todos sus sirvientes; y alzó la cabeza del jefe de los coperos y la cabeza del jefe de los panaderos en presencia de sus servidores.

21 A nd he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:

Hizo volver a su oficio al jefe de los coperos, y volvió éste a poner la copa en la mano del faraón.

22 B ut he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.

Pero hizo ahorcar al jefe de los panaderos, como José lo había interpretado.

23 Y et did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.

Sin embargo, el jefe de los coperos no se acordó de José, sino que lo olvidó.
