1 A nd the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

El quinto ángel tocó la trompeta, y vi una estrella que cayó del cielo a la tierra. Y se le dio la llave del pozo del abismo.

2 A nd he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

Abrió el pozo del abismo, y del pozo subió humo como humo de un gran horno, y el sol y el aire se oscurecieron por el humo del pozo.

3 A nd there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Del humo salieron langostas sobre la tierra, y se les dio poder, como el poder que tienen los escorpiones de la tierra.

4 A nd it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

Se les mandó que no dañaran la hierba de la tierra, ni cosa verde alguna ni ningún árbol, sino solamente a los hombres que no tuvieran el sello de Dios en sus frentes.

5 A nd to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

Pero no se les permitió que los mataran, sino que los atormentaran cinco meses; y su tormento era como el tormento del escorpión cuando hiere al hombre.

6 A nd in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

En aquellos días los hombres buscarán la muerte, pero no la hallarán; ansiarán morir, pero la muerte huirá de ellos.

7 A nd the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

El aspecto de las langostas era semejante a caballos preparados para la guerra; en las cabezas tenían como coronas de oro, sus caras eran como caras humanas,

8 A nd they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

tenían cabello como cabello de mujer y sus dientes eran como de leones;

9 A nd they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

tenían corazas como corazas de hierro y el ruido de sus alas era como el estruendo de muchos carros de caballos corriendo a la batalla;

10 A nd they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

tenían colas como de escorpiones, y también aguijones, y en sus colas tenían poder para dañar a los hombres durante cinco meses.

11 A nd they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Sobre ellos tienen como rey al ángel del abismo, cuyo nombre en hebreo es Abadón, y en griego, Apolión.

12 O ne woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

El primer ay pasó; pero vienen aún dos ayes después de esto.

13 A nd the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

El sexto ángel tocó la trompeta, y oí una voz de entre los cuatro cuernos del altar de oro que estaba delante de Dios,

14 S aying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

la cual decía al sexto ángel que tenía la trompeta: «¡Desata a los cuatro ángeles que están atados junto al gran río Éufrates!»

15 A nd the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

Y fueron desatados los cuatro ángeles que estaban preparados para la hora, día, mes y año, a fin de matar la tercera parte de los hombres.

16 A nd the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

Y el número de los ejércitos de los jinetes era de doscientos millones. Yo oí su número.

17 A nd thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

Así vi en visión los caballos y sus jinetes, que tenían corazas de fuego, zafiro y azufre. Las cabezas de los caballos eran como cabezas de leones, y de sus bocas salía fuego, humo y azufre.

18 B y these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

Por estas tres plagas fue muerta la tercera parte de los hombres: por el fuego, el humo y el azufre que salía de sus bocas,

19 F or their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

pues el poder de los caballos estaba en sus bocas y en sus colas, porque sus colas, semejantes a serpientes, tenían cabezas y con ellas dañan.

20 A nd the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

Los demás hombres, los que no fueron muertos con estas plagas, ni aun así se arrepintieron de las obras de sus manos ni dejaron de adorar a los demonios y a las imágenes de oro, plata, bronce, piedra y madera, las cuales no pueden ver ni oír ni andar.

21 N either repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

No se arrepintieron de sus homicidios, ni de sus hechicerías, ni de su fornicación, ni de sus robos.
