1 A nd the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

Toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel se reunió en Silo, donde erigieron el Tabernáculo de reunión. Toda la tierra se les había sometido,

2 A nd there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.

pero quedaban de los hijos de Israel siete tribus a las cuales aún no se les habían repartido su posesión.

3 A nd Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?

Entonces Josué dijo a los hijos de Israel: «¿Hasta cuándo vais a esperar para venir a poseer la tierra que os ha dado Jehová, el Dios de vuestros padres?

4 G ive out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

Designad tres hombres de cada tribu, para que yo los envíe. Que ellos se levanten, recorran la tierra y la describan conforme al reparto de las heredades; después volverán a mí.

5 A nd they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.

Dividirán la tierra en siete partes. Judá se quedará en su territorio al sur y los de la casa de José en el suyo al norte.

6 Y e shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the Lord our God.

Vosotros, pues, delinearéis la tierra en siete partes y me traeréis la descripción aquí, para que yo eche suertes delante de Jehová, nuestro Dios.

7 B ut the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.

Pero los levitas no tienen ninguna parte entre vosotros, porque el sacerdocio de Jehová es su heredad; también Gad, Rubén y la media tribu de Manasés, ya han recibido, en el lado oriental del Jordán, la heredad que les dio Moisés, siervo de Jehová.»

8 A nd the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh.

Aquellos hombres se levantaron y partieron. Y mandó Josué a los que iban a delinear la tierra: «Id, recorred la tierra y delineadla, y volved a mí, para que yo os eche suertes aquí delante de Jehová, en Silo.»

9 A nd the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.

Fueron, pues, aquellos hombres y recorrieron la tierra, delineándola ciudad por ciudad en siete partes, en un libro que llevaron a Josué al campamento en Silo.

10 A nd Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.

Josué les echó suertes delante de Jehová en Silo, y allí repartió la tierra a los hijos de Israel, según sus porciones.

11 A nd the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

Se sacó la suerte de la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín, conforme a sus familias, y el territorio adjudicado a ella quedó entre los hijos de Judá y los hijos de José.

12 A nd their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.

Su límite, por el lado norte, parte del Jordán y sube por el lado norte de Jericó; sube después por el monte hacia el occidente y viene a salir al desierto de Bet-avén.

13 A nd the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron.

De allí pasa en dirección de Luz, al lado sur de Luz (que es Bet-el), y desciende de Atarot-adar al monte que está al sur de Bet-horón, la de abajo.

14 A nd the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.

Tuerce hacia el oeste por el lado sur del monte que está delante de Bet-horón, al sur, y viene a salir a Quiriat-baal (que es Quiriat-jearim), ciudad de los hijos de Judá. Éste es el lado del occidente.

15 A nd the south quarter was from the end of Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:

El lado del sur va desde el extremo de Quiriat-jearim y sale al occidente, a la fuente de las aguas de Neftoa.

16 A nd the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel,

Luego desciende este límite hasta el extremo del monte que está delante del valle del hijo de Hinom, al norte del valle de Refaim; desciende entonces al valle de Hinom, al lado sur del jebuseo, y de allí desciende a la fuente Rogel.

17 A nd was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,

Después se inclina hacia el norte y sale a En-semes; de allí a Gelilot, que está delante de la subida de Adumín, y desciende a la piedra de Bohán hijo de Rubén.

18 A nd passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:

Pasa por el lado que está enfrente del Arabá y desciende al Arabá;

19 A nd the border passed along to the side of Bethhoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast.

pasa el límite hacia el lado norte de Bet-hogla y termina en la bahía norte del Mar Salado, en el extremo sur del Jordán. Éste es el límite sur.

20 A nd Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.

El Jordán era el límite del lado oriental. Ésta es la heredad de los hijos de Benjamín con los límites que la rodean, conforme a sus familias.

21 N ow the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz,

Las ciudades de la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín, por sus familias, fueron Jericó, Bet-hogla, el valle de Casis,

22 A nd Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,

Bet-arabá, Zemaraim, Bet-el,

23 A nd Avim, and Pharah, and Ophrah,

Avim, Pará, Ofra,

24 A nd Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:

Quefar-haamoni, Ofni y Geba: doce ciudades con sus aldeas.

25 G ibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

Gabaón, Ramá, Beerot,

26 A nd Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

Mizpa, Cafira, Mozah,

27 A nd Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

Requem, Irpeel, Tarala,

28 A nd Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.

Zela, Elef, Jebús (que es Jerusalén), Gabaa y Quiriat: catorce ciudades con sus aldeas. Ésta es la heredad de los hijos de Benjamín conforme a sus familias.
