1 A fter these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;

2 A nd found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

където намери един юдеин на име Акила, роден в Понт и неотдавна пристигнал от Италия с жена си Прискила, защото Клавдий беше заповядал всички юдеи да напуснат Рим; и Павел дойде при тях.

3 A nd because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

И понеже имаше същото занятие, седеше у тях и работеха; защото занятието им беше да правят шатри.

4 A nd he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

И всяка събота той разискваше в синагогата с юдеи и гърци и се стараеше да ги убеждава.

5 A nd when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

А когато Сила и Тимотей слязоха от Македония, Павел беше принуждаван от своя дух да свидетелства на юдеите, че Исус е Христос.

6 A nd when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

Но понеже и те се противяха и хулеха, той отърси дрехите си и каза: Кръвта ви да бъде на главите ви; аз съм чист от нея; отсега нататък ще отивам между езичниците.

7 A nd he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

И като се премести оттам, дойде в дома на някого си на име Тит Юст, който се кланяше на Бога и чиято къща беше до синагогата.

8 A nd Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

А Крисп, началникът на синагогата, повярва в Господа с целия си дом; и мнозина от коринтяните, като слушаха, вярваха и се кръщаваха.

9 T hen spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

И Господ каза на Павел нощем във видение: Не бой се, но говори и не млъквай;

10 F or I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

защото Аз съм с теб и никой няма да те нападне и да ти стори зло; защото имам много хора в този град.

11 A nd he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

И той преседя там година и шест месеца и ги поучаваше в Божието слово.

12 A nd when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

А когато Галион беше управител в Ахая, юдеите се вдигнаха единодушно против Павел, доведоха го пред съдилището и казаха:

13 S aying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

Този убеждава човеците да се кланят на Бога противно на закона.

14 A nd when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:

Но когато Павел щеше да отвори уста, Галион каза на юдеите: Ако беше въпрос за някоя неправда или грозно злодеяние, о, юдеи, разбира се, би трябвало да ви търпя;

15 B ut if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

но ако въпросите са за учение, за имена и за вашия закон, гледайте си сами; аз не искам да съм съдия на такива работи.

16 A nd he drave them from the judgment seat.

И ги изпъди от съдилището.

17 T hen all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

Тогава те всички хванаха началника на синагогата Состен и го биха пред съдилището; но Галион не искаше и да знае за това. Завръщането в Антиохия. Начало на третото пътешествие

18 A nd Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

А Павел, след като престоя там още доста време, се прости с братята и отплава за Сирия (и с него Прискила и Акила), като си острига главата в Кенхрея, защото имаше оброк.

19 A nd he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

Като стигнаха в Ефес, той ги остави там, а сам влезе в синагогата и разискваше с юдеите.

20 W hen they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;

А когато го замолиха да поседи повечко време, той не склони,

21 B ut bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

но се прости с тях и каза: Ако е Божията воля, пак ще се върна при вас. И отплава от Ефес.

22 A nd when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.

И като слезе в Цезарея, отиде в Йерусалим и поздрави църквата, и после слезе в Антиохия.

23 A nd after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

И като поседя там известно време, излезе и обикаляше наред областта Галатия и Фригия и утвърждаваше всички ученици. Аполос в Ефес

24 A nd a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

А някой си юдеин на име Аполос, роден в Александрия, човек учен и силен в Писанията, дойде в Ефес.

25 T his man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Той беше наставен в Господния път и като беше усърден по дух, говореше и поучаваше прилежно за Исус, но познаваше само Йоановото кръщение.

26 A nd he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

Той започна да говори дързостно в синагогата; но Прискила и Акила, като го чуха, прибраха го и му изложиха по-точно Божия път.

27 A nd when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

И когато той се канеше да замине за Ахая, братята го насърчиха и писаха до учениците да го приемат; и той, като дойде, помогна много на повярвалите чрез благодатта;

28 F or he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

защото силно опровергаваше юдеите, и то публично, като доказваше от Писанието, че Исус е Христос.
