1 A nd God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

След това Бог каза на Яков: Стани, иди във Ветил и живей там; и там издигни жертвеник на Бога, Който ти се яви, когато бягаше от лицето на брат си Исав.

2 T hen Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

Тогава Яков каза на домашните си и на всички, които бяха с него: Махнете чуждите богове, които са между вас, очистете се и променете дрехите си;

3 A nd let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

и да станем да отидем във Ветил и там ще издигна жертвеник на Бога, Който ме послуша в деня на бедствието ми и беше с мене в пътя, по който ходих.

4 A nd they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

И така, те дадоха на Яков всички чужди идоли, които бяха в ръцете им, и обиците, които бяха на ушите им; и Яков ги скри под дъба, който беше при Сихем.

5 A nd they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

След това си тръгнаха; и хората от околните градове се изпълниха с ужас от Бога, така че не преследваха Якововите синове.

6 S o Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.

И така, Яков дойде в Луз (който е Ветил), в Ханаанската земя, той и целият народ, който беше с него.

7 A nd he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

И там издигна жертвеник и нарече мястото Ел-Ветил, защото, когато бягаше от лицето на брат си, там му се яви Бог.

8 B ut Deborah, Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.

По това време умря Девора, бавачката на Ревека, и я погребаха под дъба, по-долу от Ветил; затова бе наречен Дъб на плача.

9 A nd God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.

И Бог пак се яви на Яков след завръщането му от Падан-арам и го благослови.

10 A nd God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

Бог му каза: Името ти наистина е Яков; но няма да се наричаш вече Яков, а Израел ще ти бъде името. И го наименува Израел.

11 A nd God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

Бог му каза още: Аз съм Бог Всемогъщий; плоди се и се размножавай. Народ, даже редица народи ще произлязат от теб и царе ще излязат от чреслата ти;

12 A nd the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

и земята, която дадох на Авраам и Исаак, на тебе ще я дам; и на потомството ти след тебе ще дам земята.

13 A nd God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

Тогава Бог се възнесе от него, от мястото, където му говори.

14 A nd Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

И Яков издигна стълб на мястото, където му говори, каменен стълб; и принесе възлияние на него и го поля с масло.

15 A nd Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.

Яков нарече мястото, където Бог говори с него, Ветил. Раждането на Вениамин и смъртта на Рахил

16 A nd they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

След това тръгнаха от Ветил; а като стигнаха близо до Ефрат, Рахил роди и много се мъчеше при раждането си.

17 A nd it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

А като се мъчеше да роди, бабата ѝ каза: Не бой се, защото имаш още един син.

18 A nd it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.

А като предаваше душа (защото умря), Рахил го наименува Венони, а баща му го наименува Вениамин.

19 A nd Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

Така Рахил умря и я погребаха край пътя за Ефрат (който е Витлеем).

20 A nd Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

И над гроба ѝ Яков издигна стълб; той е и до днес стълб на гроба на Рахил.

21 A nd Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.

След това Израел тръгна и разпъна шатрата си оттатък Мигдал-едер.

22 A nd it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

И когато Израел живееше в онази земя, Рувим отиде и лежа с наложницата на баща си Вала, и Израел научи за това. А Якововите синове бяха дванадесет души;

23 T he sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

синовете на Лия: Рувим, Якововият първороден, Симеон, Левий, Юда, Исахар и Завулон;

24 T he sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

синовете от Рахил: Йосиф и Вениамин;

25 A nd the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

а синовете на Рахилината слугиня Вала: Дан и Нефталим;

26 A nd the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.

и синовете от Лиината слугиня Зелфа: Гад и Асир. Тези са Якововите синове, които му се родиха в Падан-арам. Смърт и погребение на Исаак

27 A nd Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

После Яков дойде при баща си Исаак в Мамврий, в Кириат-Арва (който е Хеврон), където Авраам и Исаак бяха престоели.

28 A nd the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

И дните на Исаак станаха сто и осемдесет години.

29 A nd Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

И Исаак, като издъхна, умря стар и сит от дни, прибра се при народа си; и синовете му Исав и Яков го погребаха.
